Ok I had to go back to a reg phone since the BB is having issues getting my voicemails and calls. Normal phones work. My question

I love geeting my emails and getting the movie listings and weather and a few other things on the web I used Maufit for the BB and I was wondering if the Env will still do these things our do you have another suggestion.

Verizon can't figure out the problems with the BB and Ihave had both 8703 and the 8830

What to do any "good advice" 😉

The EnV will do email via mobile email, mobile web or wireless sync. Wireless sync is mainly designed for PDA's and it just isn't the same on regular phones, plus it's $20 instead of $5 so I'd go with one of the other options.

Personally I'm a big mobile web fan. I'll be honest, I rarely used the options listed on the home page, I put Google in as a favorite and went there immediately when I launched the application. Mobile web will bring up a pretty good selection of url's on it's own, if there's something that just won't load, use google to go to the site. Google will mildly reformat some sites for mobile browsers. Most web-based email comes up fine on mobile web also, just add it as a favorite so it's fast to get to.

Mobile web...

The Mobile Email option in Get It Now will check a good number of web-based email and pull it to the phone. You have to go into Get It Now and launch the application to read it, and it will let you reply or create new messages. There is a notification option.

Prior to this application, there were a variety of similar programs in Get It Now, or people logged into their email from Mobile Web. I did this with gmail, yahoo, and hotmail. It will save your password. If your email provider has a forwarding option and you have a sufficient text/pix messaging package, you can forward incoming emails as a text message. Phones will support 160 characters for text or 1000 characters as pix or enhanced messages. Your phone is capable of the 1000 ...

To avoid the GIN email application's extra charge, look at Google's Gmail. It has a basic but serviceable WAP interface that works well on Mobile Web 2. You can either use Gmail directly as your email provider, or set up a Gmail account and then configure it to retrieve your current POP email account's messages. You are actually using Gmail to send mail, but you can set the "reply to" to your current (non Gmail) account. You do this using Gmail's Mail Fetcher feature

Its also nice having a 4.5 GB archive of your email.

The problem hasnt been fixed because the people helping you arent taking the right steps. Once they replaced the phone the first time it should have gone to the NRB, the NRB would fix it, they wouldnt have you get another phone. My guess is you just got unlucky and got someone that didnt want to spend the time filling out the trouble ticket.

If you liked the BB you are going to see the EnV as a poor substitute. Emailwise the EnV is blown out of the water by the BB in both functionality and speed. Since you are having problems getting calls and voice mail indicator coming late it means you email notification from either Wireless Sync or Mobile email will be slow as well as they use the text network to notify your phone just like voice mai...

Are you using the Extended Network? If that is the case then that is also your problem. My suggestion is to go into a store at least that way you can just stand in front of them till the problem is fixed (don't go in right before close then they won't want to help you).

the ENV will fit needs, but try the BB pearl that is premering, or wait for the Voyager it has an HTML browser. Those two phones should be great, but if you get either one make sure to back it up witha data plan, the Pearls is 29.99 if i remember correctly and you can add vcast for 15.00 on the voyager...so its all personal preference on the cell phone! Good luck on finding a phone that fits your needs!`

I took everyone's advice tried to get the pearl but VZW only would send me a 8830 back as a replacement. I am getting this Thursday and will have them figure out what is the problem. I hated the env and i have not had it 24 hrs yet.

Thanks for all the good advice everyone. I appreciate it. Going to the Env was a mistake
