At first I was like "iDEN and CDMA? How does THAT work?", but apparently Nextel could be adding some CDMA to its network:
"Analysts noted that if Nextel decides to install a CDMA-based network using the 1.9 GHz spectrum it's likely to acquire from the Federal Communications Commission as part of a re-banding effort designed to reduce interference in the 800 MHz spectrum band, Nextel could set itself up for a possible deal with either Sprint or Verizon Wireless."
Merging with Sprint seems like its something that could be done without setting off any regulatory alarms, but with Verizon? Wouldn't that combined company be so large that the regulators would be agains...
