I've always been told it depends which branch of the military you're in.

My husband is US Army Reserves, and our discount is 15%.

A cousin of mine is in the Marines, and his is 17%..

And a good friend of ours is in the Navy and his is 20%.

Either way, I think it's ridiculous Verizon offers greater discounts to our countries FedEx employees than they do all of our military personnel out putting their lives in the line of fire on a daily, or near daily basis.

they don't base it off the company they base it off how many accounts that company has with verizon the more accounts and phone the more the discount! The US military has more att accoutns then verizon they get 19 with them and less with say sprint. Verizon is in the middle.

The Hospital where I work has the following discounts

Verizon: 28%
Sprint 35% (some people have sprint but they realize how bad it sucks in South Dakota, then they get verizon)
Alltel: 10%
and Unicel 5%

I have verizon. I am not stupid to get sprint!

It's really dependent on negotiation which is based on how many lines a company or organization have with VZW.

Why does it suck that a company offers a complementary discount to our nation's servicemen?

WHY DOES IT SUCK YOU POMPUS A$%? BECAUSE UNLIKE SOME PERSON WHO GETS IN THEIR CAR TO DRIVE TO HOME DEPOT, LOWES OR ANY OTHER CORPORATE/RETAIL BS JOB THAT IS UTTERLY MEANINGLESS IN THE WHOLE SCOOP OF LIFE....OUR COUNTRY'S SERVICE MEMBERS MAKE IT OK FOR YOU TO ASK SENSELESS QUESTIONS. THEY DO WHAT OTHERS CANNOT OR WILL NOT DO. AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED MEN AND WOMEN WHO SACRAFICE THEIR TIME AND SAFETY FOR THE GOOD OF OTHERS DESERVE FREE SERVICE. GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!

Excuse me? What part of the job where that guy in the national guard that sits at a desk being the secretary for his CO is sacraficing his time or his safty? He is getting paid more for his time than the guys at home depot and he still is able to get a 15% discount.

What you are spouting off is just along the same lines as people that think they should get free PDAs because they have been a customer for 4 years.
The government compensates military personel very well. If a business wants to give a discount to military personel just because they want to say thank you, you should be happy.

If you think military should get free service, you should go talk to your congresman and ask for that. I am sure the taxpayers would love to hear ab...

You can check to see if your company offers a discount for Verizon Wireless service by going to verizonwireless.com, click on the business tab and then click on employee discounts. Enter your work email address to see if you qualify for any discounts. If your work email address matches our files, we will send you an email that will help you determine your eligibility for a discount (personal email addresses cannot be accepted). Contained in this e-mail are directions for how you can sign up for service using your discount. You can also call customer service at 1-800-922-0204 for more information.

Military get 15% off monthly access and 12 % off email packages. They also get their activations waived and discounts on most phones. The best discounts are on Motorola's.
