Working for Verizon
I was just wondering if you get perks for working at verizon. Like free service or anything. I know a lot about Cell phones and am in need of a part time job.

VZW themselves doesn't discount service, but if the dealer qualifies for enough demo lines they *might* let you use that line.

Verizon gives pretty damn good discounts for the service. Also, a lot of people don't know this, but the employee cellular coverage is a lot different than customer cellular coverage. I still don't know why, but it is.

yes there are employee lines (that you can use even if you work for a retailer or agent) and they have good coverage now ...and verizon does offer a discount if you work for certain premium retailers..you will just want to ask the store you are applying at

Nothing makes me think the service for employees is better. If you worked for the company and checked the vzwmap for cellular coverage, you'd know by clicking on employee that the coverage is different, and in a lot of cases, better in quite a few areas.

you want to know the benifits about working at VZW and all you care is about the discount service? This isn't your regular retail phone shop - VZW has a lot more benifits than just 40% discount on your plan ... hell, I think a discount service phone plan is nothing compared what VZW has to offer -
-Inexpensive health and dental
-Tuition - Prepay and Reimbursement (even for PT) - $4k for PT, $8k for FT
-Matching 1-to-1 401 up to 6% (vested after 3 years)
-VARS-Profit Sharing (vested after 3 years)
-Internship/shadowing opportunities for corporate positions
-Very competitive pay (or at least when I was there - making $35k/yr FT before I left and that's WITHOUT commission).
