Looks like Verizon has joined the others in bending over and taking it right up the a*s....

So pathetic 🙄

Company spokesman Jeffrey Nelson said the decision not to allow text messaging was incorrect.

Nelson had said Wednesday that abortion was among topics barred from mass distribution based on the company's code of content.

However, the code was developed before text-messaging became a mass-market phenomenon.

NARAL lets people sign up to receive its text messages by keying in a message to a five-digit number.

Sad thing is, I'd bet money that this Nancy Keenan lady would be the first one to try to lead some sort of "don't push your beliefs on us" campaign if a bunch of Pro-Life activists did the same thing. What a sad, sad country we live in. cilvzwagent says it best here

I think you all have some issues and if you don't like free speech you need to leave and go somewhere other then the USA. This is the same thing as an ISP telling you what webistes they will allow you to go to. I am not going to say if I agree or disagree with what verizon was trying to do but its not their place what you get on your phone just like its not any ISP's place what you get on your computer. Whats next cable companies banning HBO because they might air somethings the company doesn't agree with?

If I don't want messages from a group, the solution's quite simple. I don't sign up to their mailing list. I'm glad to be thought of as intelligent enough to employ that selectivity on my own. 🙂

yup just like if you don't like porn you don't go to it on your computer connected to an ISP I don't think I need the ISP to push their beliefs on me!
