EVDO

Could someone point me in the direction of where I can find a nice EVDO coverage map? I know the verizon site has one but I dont seem to understand it. Maybe I am a bit slow but is there any other maps out there that could help me see where this coverage is at?

Just click the button/map for Broadband/Vcast, the dark grey area is what to look for. Yellow would be 1x, more like dialup speeds

Hey thanks for the info. I was able to figure that out. Though unfortunately I only have 1x in my area. But I am not too far from some areas that have the EVDO. Thanks I appreciate it.

You might have to wait a bit longer.

Unfortunately, companies like Verizon are very wary in where they launch their data networks. Sorry you only can get 1x. I would not even use that. If you want high-speed data see other companies to see if they do in your area.

For what I use it the 1x is not that bad. I was just wondering. ☚ī¸

No problem. I mean if you were paying extra for that 1x as like a data plan for the device or data card, I would stop it immediately. It is not worth the money. If it is already enabled in your plan then obviously you probably should not do anything. 1x is horrible for the technologies that we have out today.

from what i know verizon has way better 3g coverage than any other company, i live in wyoming where you can only get verizon or alltel (sprint and tmobile in cheyenne, roughly 10 miles from the wyoming-colorado border i might add..and a small gsm carrier, union wireless) besides being the only major carrier to have service in wyoming, they also have evdo coverage in almost every "city" in wyoming...the maps haven't been updated in a while, but i can verify that almost every place here has coverage...now i can't call that anything but impressive

well if i ever see sprint service let alone at&t up hear i'd frankly be amazed...they have roaming coverage here obviously (and as a sidenote nextel doesn't work here at all), but no stores...i can't think of a state where verizon doesn't have coverage in (ie no stores, just roaming coverage)...does anyone know off the top of their heads which states don't?

well I ment overall. They have it in more places in the country. Was not saying for your area.

I don't know about stores but they have little to no coverage in the following states:
WV
MS
NE
KS
OK
West TX none
NV

Were you from?

they might have roaming coverage here, but if they had actual service here i could go to a sprint store and buy a phone...but alas there are no sprint stores anywhere in the state except cheyenne, 7 miles from the colorado border, as i have said before

That is semi true because Verizon does have 3G in certain areas but lack in a lot of others. Wonder why they cannot do an EV-DO roaming deal and Sprint can? Simple. Spectrum.
