Well, I work in the indirect channel, so I cant give you any guranteed idea, but my best guess would be that it depends on a couple things.
1.) How much inititave you provide, your attitude, and how much knowledge you demonstrate (pretty much like getting a raise at any other job)
2.) Their current sales staff and when they have an opening.
So pretty much you will have your foot ini the door, if you are a crappy CSR, show up late, have a crappy attitude, and dont know jack, then you probably wont advance very quick.
If you go in with a positive attitude, show you know your stuff (if you know a lot, help the other reps and show your a team player) and are generally an asst, you will probably advance pretty quickly.
