New SmartPhones?

So I've read the new Q is coming and supposably a new Samsung but what does everyone think of Verizon's line-up of SmartPhones? I"ve been with VZW for 7 years and haven't had a problem with coverage but am looking to switch to a SmartPhone.

I really would like a phone with Wi-Fi since I'm paying so much for service before any extras anyways but just wanted to see what Verizon has up their sleeves for the next two-three months for Smartphones

Well, right now it's not too impressive, but I have a Samsung i730 which is discontinued now, but if you want a really, really good PDA, check eBay for one.

Or wait for the i760 (which is the next gen i730).
It's just that the i730 is tried and true. The i760 could suck for all we know.

That i760 looks pretty sleek. Guess there's no work on when that will be coming out although the two stories I just read on it were from October last year so I would assume it should be getting close.

From experience, release dates pretty much mean nothing. The i760 was actually supposed to come out last March.

Very true. I just know I don't want to settle on something now if something is coming out in little while. Especially something with WiFi. That i760 looks really sleak and seems to have the features I'm looking for. Of course price may then bar an issue but we'll see.

if you want a smartphone (wm6) the i760 is nice.
if you want a touchscreen pda (wm6 pro) the HTC6800 is the way to go.
both should be out by end of october.

I had never heard of the Telus brand before but it looks as though that HTC 6800 is for Sprint? Is it coming for Verizon as well?

Yes, the Telus one was the first to be released. It sells under P4000.

Bell Mobility has it too.

Thank God .. I just got sooooo pissed 🙂 honestly size wise (I'm bad w/messurments) is the i760 going to be that much smaller than the 6800? I'm still confused on which phone "TO WAIT 4" I have never had a PPC phone and this will be my first... I like the fact the i760 has stereo speakers and I guess it's good w/the numbers on front so you can 1 hand text (driving bad I know) I just want cool and up 2 date even though sounds like that both are already over the hill and not out yet... WHAT DO I GET??

I've had the Treo 700W since it came out (2-years) The screen resolution SUCKS compared to even regular phones. Verizon is always way behing when it comes to current phones and they tend to cripple them. I'm looking forward to either changing carriers to get a better smart phone or I may continue to stick around for now and see if something come along. The Q is OK...no touch screen though. Maybe by the end of the year.
