Many thanks to ThatsMrDude2U over at HoFo (the home of great posters and crappy moderators 😁 ).

And no, no info on a release date as of yet.

Looks like the 5300 with no antenna.

We still don't know the color, eh?

It's probably going to be the same color as the 8300. There's a picture of the back on info manager and it looks pretty much the same color that the 8300 was.

It scares me that it looks like that POS known as the LG VX5300

5300 is a pretty good phone. My friend has it and it's very solid. Reception is on par with other LGs and the weight is good.

What exactly don't you like about it?

It has the highest defect rate in my store. Several times the customer came back with it and it gives the white screen of death even if you take the battery out and put it back in.

It made the Motorola RAZRs looks like a quality product.

We've had a few similar issues with them. Overall I still think they're a great phone.

I've never had any problems with them. They get excellent reception (I'm in a weak reception area). They get better analog reception than most tri-mode phones (although that won't matter soon). I'm shocked you've had any problems with it.

The user reviews for the 5300 here at PhoneScoop aren't very favorable either. Apparently a lot of people weren't that impressed. ☚ī¸

it is not an impressive phone. But it seems pretty solid where i am at. The 325 was my solid midrange model, but those are starting to trickle in with battery issues so I started puching th e5300 more and had little proble. Next week I get my 385 in so that will be the new mid range push for me.

That phone kicks ass

What's so great about the W385?

Lower-end Motos scare me. The track record is not good at all. ☚ī¸

I agree, but it is nice, much better build, quality then the higher motos like razr and krazr. It is basically a 325i in a krazr shell, and the 325i has been a good phone besides a few battery issues

Did either of you decide/ experience the difference between Motorola W385 and Lg5300?
My Motorola 325 has been excellent, durable, and great reception but it is dying so need a replacement. ANY suggestions between the two above?

Normally I wouldn't care about that, 'cuz 1.3 MP would seem to be plenty for a cameraphone... but with so many camphones having digital zoom only & forcing you to knock down the rez in order for the zoom to function, yeah, 2.0 MP is needed, sadly. ☚ī¸

If they go optical zoom (with a nice lens too), then 1.3 mp is plenty.
