Call into customer service, you may be in a spot that only one tower is getting coverage to your house and that tower might be having problems. Tech support will probably need to open a trouble ticket to have someone go out and check the tower. Please make sure you mention that it is happening on all phones on your family.

and good luck. we used to have ok service in our town, after several calls to verizon, and a few trouble tickets, still not fixed. And according to verizon, my address is .52 miles from the tower, and I get 0 and lucky days 1 bar, and that is everyone on my family plan, and everyone else with verizon that comes here. But we can get 40 miles north of our town, which 15 miles north is out of verizons territory and still have verizon service. I think that verizon has our tower aimed to help keep people on their system in other market territory. Because we used to have decent service in this town, and about the same time our service went down, we were getting verizon service well into another market that verizon has no coverage. I am think...

I am having the same issues... Have had open tech tickets for about 6 months now... Have been repeatedly told I have full EV-DO coverage in my area... Techs actually came out and found there are more holes in my city than Swiss Cheese... Caused by their move from 1X to EV-DO... One possible issue is that this move has caused the phones to start fighting with themself.. THE EV-DO signal is not strong enough for service, yet, it is enough to trick the phone and it ignors the 1X service.. Finally all 3 of my phones give up and switch to the Sprint Extended Network.. And, poof... Perfect service... This is not just in my home area.. Happens thruout my City and in several that I pass thru... I am told it is poor tower and signal implementation, a...

I have found what you are saying to be true. I live in a town of 5500, so we all know verizon is not going to do anything in this area including evdo. We have our account notated that we can leave with no ETF if we want to. But back to your specific problem.

I visit a city all the time, when I leave the city and head back, my phone does not work properly, and it always did before. I found what the problem was, as I was getting further away from the city, the phone was flipping back and forth between towers with evdo and non-evdo towers, even if I was on the phone, it would drop my calls. I was getting frustrated because I was able to use the phone thru this area before evdo and had zero problems. What I did to correct the problem, I...

so lets get this straight. verizon should be embarrassed to have its name in your area because on the extended network you can talk as long as you want to. 😕

you darn straight verizon should be embarrased to have its name in our area. If I wanted US Cellular I would have signed up for them in the first place. Our phones worked good untill January of this year, now everybodies phones in this area are not far from paper weights.

Verizon has their own tower in this area and it should be working. we should not have to go onto the extended network to get service. If you read my post again, I state that we have to manually force our phones over to extended network by putting the phone in our pocket or under our arms, otherwise it stays on verizon and we have very bad service inside our outside.

Verizon goes around bragging about having the best network, and they have the fewest dropped ca...

Call customer service and tell them the problem your having. Ive seem this happen before. They will transfer you to Technical Support and they should file a trouble ticket.

Yeah, we have done that since january. I know I have opened 4 or 5 of them, and I know about 10 other people that have had them open in the same area.

They came and said it was a bad area, we can leave without ETF. Then they said they were going to fix the problem, they were going to bring in COWS and fix it, that never happened. When that did not happen, they said they were going to make it so our phones would grab the strongest signal, well, that is not happening either. The only way that happens is if we force our phone to do so by covering it up.

This is something that verizon users will have to put up with in this area. I stay for a couple of reasons, I know a lot of people on verizon, so the M2M is a nice feature, and I trav...
