Verizon Wireless, can you here me now???? I know Verizon is the best cellular company out there for alwayz getting connected but they are losing customers to the new revised Cingular and Nextels direct connect. They have so many customers but they don't care about us and giving us great phones like T- Mobile, Cingular and Nextel. I was with Verizon since it started but after the over-hyped v710, I left Verizon. They need to get in with the mix n get rid of brew, lower $'s and have a better relationship with Motorola and stop trying to dogg the market. I know everyone is trying to make money but come on, give us a break.
Ill go back to Verizon if they chill, get awesome phones ( audiovox, samsung, kyrosera.... retarted phones ) and get bett...

Or that Verizon lost him as a customer? who cares. go piss and moan in the Cingular forum.

that right there is the exact reason you will LOSE.

Although you and I disagree on who is better, you hit the nail on the head with that one. He sounds like the reps I talked to at AT&T before I split.
Verizon did not get to be the "biggest and the best" with an attitude like that, but as is often the case, once a company has tons of customers, they feel that losing some is no big deal. AT&T felt that way, and they hemorrhaged customers to Verizon and others. Now where are they? GONE!
Time will tell the results of the merger.

Verizon cares quite deeply for its customers. Obviously not every rep is pure gold, but since LNP was implemented, no other carrier in this country has ported more numbers to it then from as has Verizon Wireless. In layman's terms, since you've been able to switch carriers and take your number with you, more customers have left other carriers and come to Verizon than have left and gone elsewhere.
...
I personally ran screaming from AT&T about a month ago. My coverage is better, I don't get as many dropped calls, but the freaking echo is ANNOYING and happens on about half my calls.
I was still on AT&T when I went to Verizon. I borrowed a friend's LG TM510 just to get on Verizon before I went on vacation. Several people have told me that my calls sound muffled, so I did a test with a friend's VX7000. The call quality was MUCH better.
Considering that my friend said the TM510 had been dropped a few times and is quite old, I look forward to the performance of my new LG VX8000...if it ever gets released.
My wife dumped AT&T shorlty before I did and went to Sprint. She has had NO problems on her Nokia 3588i.

Same "tired argument", "different month" across all the Carrier Formats.

Yep....Everyone of us gets the exact same post with the names changed accordingly. So....no one really has the right to argue who is better. It's all a matter of opinion.

No, because he barely made any sense. I don't know what the hell he was saying.

Verizon's losing customers? Really? I thought they had the lowest churn rate in the industry.
Actually, its the other companies (with the exception of Nextel, whose churn is nearly as low as Verizon's) who are losing their customers.
...
"I know Verizon is the best cellular company out there for alwayz(sic) getting connected...."
Hmm. Why would I want to stay with a company that does that? Makes no sense to me. I'd rather go to Cingular and get more dropped calls again because they have pretty little phones.

You'd be surprised how many people actually have that mentality. I could live with 5 dropped calls a day or something average like that if the phone would last 5 yrs personally. But some people have unreal expectations of all the companies.

You're kidding, right?
For a lot of customers, if their service dropped 5 calls a day on avg, their phone WOULDN'T MAKE IT to 5 years, because it would've been thrown against the wall repeatedly.
😳
...
Oh blah. Not everyone is surgically attached to their phone.
...
Well, that's the ideal. But unfortunately, a lot of us do business on our cell phones, and/or do not have tremendous tolerance for a phone or service that drops many calls a day. That's simply reality, for good or ill.
...
It's not the ideal for me...yeesh. some people need to get a life. But our service doesn't drop all the time, at least not for me...I never get a dropped call.

Yeah, I agree, some people need to.

So you're defense for having a network that drops calls is "Blah", and that it's not important to you that your call is maintained? How are you in this industry?
...
Every network drops calls at one point. And it IS important to me.
the "BLAH", good sir, was for the "will be thrown against the wall" comment. Jesus.
I'm not going to continue this into a Verizon vs. whoever debate.

Still having a hard time figuring out why that particular comment bothered you. Its accurate for many customers, after all. Unfortunate, but accurate.
Though if you're a rep, I could understand... dealing with angry, surly customers must not be pleasant.
...
I am a rep, actually. The comment was just a bit over the top.

Not sure about that. 5 drops a day? Yeah, the phone's heading for the wall at some point eventually... maybe not the first few days, but eventually. That kind of stuff just wears people down, especially if its an important call.
For example, I live in the Silcon Valley (a real professional pressure cooker) and I've gotten into heated arguments with so many yuppie dolts over trivial misunderstandings simply because they were so stressed out all the time. You think people like that are going to be the soul of control with a cell phone/service that isn't doing what it should? Please.
But look at the bright side... if the serv...

Those are the same sort of people who'll snap and kill someone, someday. If people can't handle the "stress" of a cell phone, they should just stick to landlines and avoid all other life stresses such as tying your shoes and zipping your pants.

Oh, I'm with you ralph. I don't like people like that either. But there's a good number of 'em.

Oh yeah... it definitely is crap (Sprint what?), but it makes me wish we could sell them extension cords and just have them drag those about everywhere with them.

I totally agree with you Jessi. I mean there is no company out there which is better then other. I mean vzw has better coverage n&w start @ 9. I dunno I cant decide either at this point who to stick with. I have vzw and was thinking about cingular or free incoming with nextel

And just for your information..I've never said anything in this thread that's anti-verizon. So get off my back. I don't agree with the original post, anyway...that guy is just angry. he'll get over it.

I'm not on your back. I'm just curious as to why someone with such disdain for people who think cell coverage is important to the work they do still posts on a forum dedicated to talking about just that? Does anyone else see the irony?
...
My disdain was toward the comment stating they would throw the phone into the wall. That's it.
...
...and towards people here taking this site too seriously?
...
Are you done? Why do need to sit here and keep dragging this out? Leave me alone, ok?

Too bad you can't actually PROVE that. The only people who say that are VZW. Cingular's testing shows different results. Go figure. Can you provide me with the independant case study on network reliability? I'd really like to see what someone OTHER than VZW has to say about their network.
...
I live in southern CA. Well, I got that information from, among others, my friend who had been a Cingular customer for several years. In ALL of the areas that he had NO SERVICE with Cingular, he now has coverage with Verizon, to which he switched only about two weeks ago. When I asked him how he liked Verizon so far, after three days on the service, he said that he loves the fact that he can actually drive into his garage and NOT drop the call like it always did on Cingular.
I also base that on the quality of his calls. On Cingular, his calls would be so garbled a lot of the time that I was constantly asking him to repeat himself. With Verizon, I can understand him much better.
My personal experience with AT&T, from which I switched to...

Oh for God' sake, people. Don't start this crap again.
It all the depends on where you live. PERIOD.
Verizon has crap from coverage where I live, but Cingular is fine...but in other places it may be vice versa..
Just DROP IT. It's like banging your head against a brick wall.
...
Yeah, I can prove it. Verizon Wireless has not been sued by the other carriers for having commercials claiming they have the most reliable network. In this country, that's as good as gospel.

Well, here's a little study for you: Verizon phones used in 3 years...11. States traveled to...32. Reliability of Verizon's network when compared to Cingular's (traveled with my sister during this time...she used four different Cingular handsets)...much MUCH better. Dropped calls, garbled voice etc...she experienced it all. And this is NOT to say Verizon was perfect...just much MUCH more reliable over the time...

I'm sorry you had a bad experince with the 710, but I'm curious to know why you blame Verizon Wireless for the poorly performing 710 (in your case), and then go on to say that Verizon needs to get more Motorola phones, instead of "retarded phones" like samsung, audiovox, and kyosera (acutally spelled Kyocera)?

I find it rather interesting that the original poster is not replying. Perhaps he did it just to spark a few flames? Or maybe he was just plain drunk or high 😉

Well finally someone has discovered this!! I have been reading this whole thread and I realized like some of these other "bashing threads" that a lot of the people who start these threads don't reply back most of the time. They probably do that just to spark flame wars...and you know what? It works. It's like moths to flames(pun intended). 😛

From reading it, I think he was none of the above... just 14 years old, that's all. 😉

The numbers don't lie, Verizon has gained in excess of a million net new customers in each of the last 5 quarters. No one else can say that. The new Cingular (The old Cinglar and ATTWS) gained less than 500,000 net new customers in the 2nd quarter of 2004.
After having sold numerous carriers service I would have to say that to compare Verizon with the rest of the industry would be like comparing the Boston Red Sox to the Tacoma Rainiers. They are that good.

I have heard that the all the company's feel that in this stage of the game that any american that plans to get a cell phone already has a cell phone, and that companys are trying to gear more towards making there plans, commercials etc., more towards keeping the cx's that they have and not so much trying to entice new cx's.
