No matter what industry your in ..525,000 of a product sold in a 48hour is impressive..especially the product being 600 with a contract at that. CD's usually cell that in a week...and their a fraction of the price...i say kudos Apple marketing team.

Yeah, they should have a million of them sold by the mid point of this month. 18 million does seem a little far fetched though. Maybe after 2 years or something.

I say it die down after a month or so the phase of iPhone maybe Paris Hilton will go back to jail that be it 500,000 iPhones sold

the razr broke records..but i think apple is doing better than the razr did when it first came out...also their producing a cheaper version of the iphone...that should bring some more people onboard.

And the 3g one will bring them in even further, plus check out the apple forum all the things that the hard core geeks are tearing apart are going to be addressed.

the iphone will not loose to much steam for awhile and once it does the prices will drop and people will be buying them once again.

I agree verizon is in denial if they think the iphone is not going to have a significant impact.

Verizon churn just went up, and after awhile I bet they will reach those number, eventually a large percentage of the pop will want one and will be pissed that they're on carrier xyz...combined with the fact that ATT has it for five years 😳

Umm I have Verizon & I used my phone today so I dont think verizon is dead!!! Hmmmm maybe killed is a strong term! Maybe the iphone pinched verizon but veizon is a VERY strong company & one phone is not going to "kill" verizon!!!

& its the kind of pinch that the sprint guy does to chad the "alltel guy"!!

Good for you. ATT sure isn't that good in NorCal. My friends on ATT up there don't so much have their calls drop as have them garbled or messed up a lot. ☹️

It's like that through out Cali. Here in my area (the Central Coast) Cingular's service is subpar. We're constantly hearing grumbles from their customers. Here in my town it only works well by the freeway. The farther away from the freeway you get, the less service you have.

From personal experience, Verizon > AT&T in Arizona.

My point is that AT&T needs to get its head out of its ass and increase its coverage. Stop telling people that it has coverage where it doesn't and build towers in those locations.

It's not hate , it's just the fact that Apple Screwed the Pooch with Missing Crucial Features..

I do think it's missing that. I didn't get one. I knew it was missing that before it came out. These people that camped out knew it was missing it, and they bought it anyway.

Since the people who bought it, knew it didn't have it, I don't think that's going to be a factor in returns. Of course there will be a few customers who bought it unawares of this, but I would wager that most knew before they dropped that huge chunk of change on it.

It is not an option you like, but it is an option.

Apple was not trying to build a phone for everyone, just like they do not build computers for everyone.

I bet returns are less than 3%.

i did read it. PERSONALLY, I don't use SMS at all. But if I really needed to, once a month, I don't see the harm in going a few extra steps, (oh no, 2 minutes on my phone) to send a picture through email.

The ATT Store reps even knew that this was going to be a show stopper and once you buy you are out 10% at least..

Every carrier offers a 14-30 day trial period and allows returns without Restocking fees. APPLE says no way , they want your 60 if you dont like it..

You know what, this is a crime they can do this to people. People did not have a chance to try it and see what features it was missing. No one knew for sure that stereo Bluetooth and MMS and all the other missing features were not go...

It does and it doesn't. On a $600 phone, its reasonable to expect stuff like 3G, MMS, being able to record video- none of which the iPhone does.

That said, I still like the iPhone overall, for the stuff it does well- but not quite enough to get one. I'll wait for version 2 and see how it is.

ohh btw I love the point about the price. It's like when you buy a car for 40Gs you expect one thing, like G35 but I am pretty sure you would expect something else if you drop 100Gs on something like CL. when you pay 500 for the phone you just expect certain things to be there. YOU JUST DO.

But can't you look at the positive? I can live without MMS, don't really use it. 3G? It'd still be slow compared to wi-fi, which I use more often. Video? It's not an all in one yet, but it's closer and NICER than any other phone.

Are people, in 15 years, gonna be pissed at the latest iPhone that doesn't have HD video recording? LOOK WHAT IT DOES DO, and WHAT it DOES do VERY WELL.

The IPhone is the first of it's kind....so yeah, it's going to sell like hot cakes. As does everything that is a first. Look at how many Razrs (yes, I spelled it the right way) were sold in it's first month. I worked for Verizon Wireless at the time of that's release and we got in over 1,000 of them and sold out of them the first day too. It's like that with ANY new product that comes out. Then in 6 months just like everything else, the product will be getting SLAMMED in the news and by it's users for having something wrong with it and the craze will die down. I have a much-treasured EnV also. I dreamed about this phone before it actually existed, so when it became available, it was mine immediately.

Something which should be a top priority when deciding on a mobile communication device... if I'm ever about to die someplace and call 911, they can locate me because the GPS actually works.

I hope nobody in serious trouble ever tries to get help through a map, believing that their phone knows where they are.

It's called iFlop for a good reason. Read all the limitations, and see the exuberant price tag, with 2-year contract no less, and you understand why it's nothing more than a scam by Apple.
