I just switched to verizon about a week ago. Since that time I know of 5 more people who switched. If we all convert our friends and family then no one will be left to even use ATT or whatever they are calling themselves today!

The thing is Att will get alot of new customers and sell millions of Iphones but overall they can not stop the best network. The phones are getting better, touchscreen phones are coming in the next few months and it's LG that will lead the way.

So just because you have 2 phones that some people think are cool does not mean that everyone will switch to att just to use those phones! Verizon has TONS of phones, whether u want an enV or a chocolate or a slvr of razr or whatever, but my point being your choice of a company should not be souly based on the phones they offer! You should base your choice on the company's coverage, etc, not just the phones.
Plus where I live we dont even get att(thankfully!) So i garuntee you there wont be a single person in SD who gets an Iphone, considering there aren't even any GSM carriers in SD.
So in conclusion there is no way in he11 that Att is going to get tons of new customers just cuz they have 2 new phones!

When has Verizon ever had an "IT" phone? Never.... and yet they still have close to 60 million customers. This is just another hyped up, sleek phone that pushes the design limits like years ago when the Razr came out. Some people had to have it paid $500 for a razr... some didn't.

They may have coverage (with roaming partners) And since you probably live in a roaming zip code, you cant start service. Hence, they tell you that they dont have service in order to avoid explaining all that....

Ahh, no. I was referring to the loads of people that switch from AT&T to Verizon every time they move up here for school. It has nothing to do with what AT&T tells me and everything to do with how AT&T phones don't get service in this area. Good try though. I like how you're thinking positive.

why would i want any of att phones. most of their phones are junk any ways. how many people have problems with each model. just because you can use the phones in a lot of countries. doesnt mean it is good.why do you think europe went to gsm. so they can spy on there citizens easily. plus wait and see how locked down the iphone will be to att only. will be a while before anyone will be able to get unlock codes out of apple. and the curve is at about 75% return rate for defects. so who ever wants to go to att. good luck.

Is mud slinging all that goes on here? No, the Curve return rate is not at 75%, and no Verizon is not behind on everything. Verizon usually leads the way in new feature and plans, which Cingular then copies a few weeks later. Cingular has more phones available, because the GSM market is larger.

Nokia still offers CDMA phones, though they're made by someone else. And they've said in the past they want to do better in the North American market, which means... yeah, CDMA. It is more popular in the US than GSM is.

Nokia doesn't make CDMA phones because they're butt hurt that Qualcomm is better at making CDMA chips than they are. Rich or Eric explained that a while ago.

I agree, GSM sucks an Apple and Att made a huge mistake by not making the phone 3g. Now Verizon has time to prepare for Iphone 2 and no telling what they will do to counter the real threat.

SERIOUSLY guys, there is nothing more frusting and angry about having a Phat a$$ phone with $hitty reception. I can attest to that. the one and only reason i switched back to VZW is the dam network and the call quality, honest to truth. After having been with VZW for 5+years, I've grown to hate them with a passion, don't like their prices, customer service, phones, locked phones, etc. etc...but they're frigging reliable and people can understand me and i can understand them when i talk on the phone...It is suppose to be a phone first, some of the other carrier seem to forget that at times i think. Maybe is is CDMA vs. GSM thing but then I've heard horrible things about US CELL which i believe is also CDMA. Who frigging knows...
