In the LG lineup, I know the LG VX4400 can be activated. My brother has one, and had to reactivate that phone after his Motorola V265 quit working after a year. For Motorola, I know the 120e can(not to be confused with the 120c, which can't be activated). Not sure about Samsung, since I didn't use any Samsung phones until 2004.
For Samsung its probably the 310 if I remember correctly.
I have been down that road if that's the case and old phones are just that, old and lame! 😉 but maybe you just need something cheap, still cheap phones are just that- cheap crap 😁 good luck
Lg VX3100 (although that is small, not bulky)
Audiovox 8300 is not a flip but a nice small flat phone...
Thanks, I was thinking older, like a Nokia 918
or Microtacs or Startacs, the oldest you can activate.
Their are plenty models that were before those...but the ones that people have mentioned on here are e911 capable. It has to have a GPS chip in order to activated...this is Federal Law. (actually the feds say it is not their law, but they fine the carriers heftily if they activate a nonGPS phone so the carriers just won't do it.)
here is a phonescoop cliche:
Hope that helps.
