I have the potential to make 75K in my sales job and im pretty much at the bottom of the totem pole in terms of position/title.

I'm not sure why you picked Resident Doctors as you comparison. While that could be true, wage comparison is a funny thing and examples can be made to many industry that might make an interesting comparison.
Not important though, the point of the matter is that a sales person is able to determine their own wage based on will and want to succeed.
Also, Verizon has been successful with addinf retail subs so it would appear that the number of body swinging the door at a VZ location has been pretty steady. It is opportunity walkingthrough...

BTW, 70k is not alot of money in commissioned sales. I have been in sales all my life. I have always worked with real estate, at one point owning my own realtor practice. I also sold life insurance in Pennasylvania part-time for 5 years, which is a great business btw. I'm still collecting renewal commissions and residuals to this day.
I don't know what celluar reps make but I know my rep here in Scottsdale drives a carbon copy of my my M45 and thats a 50k car.
