Gzone type V

Does anyone see the price going down on this phone. Since the new one type S is coming out, I would think the price on the type V would drop another $50.

I was told the next promotion on phones is the 13th, so the price could change then. Since they are discontinuing the phone, it would almost have to drop in price. They also said they have a lot of them left in inventory.

anyone have any ideas....I was really excited about the type S, but with the camera being worse, no SD card slot, and a smaller screen I think I will get the type V. I would love to have the bluetooth, but everything else kills the type S.

I don't know if the price will go down further. Like you I was waiting for the type s for the bluetooth, but after hearing some pretty bad hands on reviews i grebbed a V. I've had it for 5 days now and I love it. I got it free with my NE2...but i gotta tell you I think its well worht the 99 bucks. Since I only use a headset while driving...I can get away w/o BT for now.

I didn't see one of these phones 'til pretty recently. All I can say is WOW! Pretty much the most 'macho' consumer cellphone I've ever seen. Solid as a rock... you feel like you could club someone unconscious with it (I mean that in the best possible way 😁 ).

I'd almost want one myself, but, it's just too big. Pity. I think there's more of a market out there for practical, ruggedized phones than some carriers realize. They make this thing a lil' smaller and it should sell.

It's not that much bigger then that brick nokia you carry around, and I bet the hinge last longer then two years 😛 but yeah I guess it has to be somewhat big in order for it to have MILL spec features. I still think you should at least test drive it, I know you'll be shocked about its call clarity/ ear piece volume its amazing.

my clip lasted less than a month, the upper arm that wraps around the phone folded in half. just ordered two replacements, at under $10 it's not a bad thing.

Oh, don' get me wrong guns, The G'Zone is a hell-damn cool phone, its jus' not for me. The Nokia 6256 actually has put me off big, bulky phones, even as good as it was.

If I was like an outdoorsman or was doin' construction or somethin', I'd want me a G'Zone. I get the feelin' I could drop it off a roof or down a ravine and it'd be ok. 🙂

I don't think I want the MAXX. I ain't into the whole 'fashionable' cell phone thing, but so many damn peeps have a RAZR that it is actually notably uncool to whip one out nowadays. Plus, there's somethin' bout the whole "Hey, we FINALLY got it right' 'tude of Motorola on this one that kinda makes me wanna hurl. ☚ī¸

I'd almost go Nokia again (6256 was great aside from the durability and bulk), but all they seem to have out right now are cheap Pantech-made...

If you get a discount on your plan through your employer you usually also get discounts on phones. When compared to online prices this discount varies from nothing to something significant. For the Gzone type V my price is $20 for a one-year contract to $0 for a two-year contract, I would expect this is typical.

Based on everything I've read, it seems like when the phone finally is introduced, no one that frequents these boards is going to want it.

Sold with a water resistant headset or what would be the point..bluetooth bluetooth geez I could give a fig. I have a nice wired headset that works better than any wirless bluetooth crap, and I hardly ever use that! Sometimes I wonder if most these peeps even need a MILL spec phone 🙄 😁

I, too, was a Bluetooth skeptic until I bought a headset. It is awesome with no wire. I don't have to worry about accidentally snagging the wire on something and have my phone fall to the cement.

Well, I use a PDA and that's why I use a headset. Not sure why people with tiny flip phones like the LG 5300 need a headset but whatever.

Because maybe politicians pass laws making it illegal for people to use cellphones in cars, unless its hand-free? ☚ī¸

Gunny,

I am not one of those people that has a qualified NEED to have a mil spec phone. However, even though I am pretty careful with my stuff, I have occasionally dropped my phone and cringed at the thought that I might be broken. Also I spend my summers at the shore...and up until I got my V had to put my phone in a baggie to protect it from sand and moisture. the V eliminates those issues. My girlfirend has gone through 3 razors (one destoryed by humidity in the bathroom, one dropped in the toilet, and one in the pool. Sge wants a GZone also but needs to wait until her TMOBIL contract runs out) Plus the biggest killer of electronics after moisture is dust. Being sealed against dust is huge for anyone...even if you don't need a mil spec...

A lot is a relitive term for a carrier with almost 60 mil customers. The price at $99 means VZW is already taking a big loss on each one that sells. $99 is most likely the clearence price on it, until it is gone. It is selling pretty well now that it is affordable for what most people are willing to pay for a phone

I doubt it will go down anymore. The phone was $400 or more when it first came out. It's been heavily discounted already.
