I don't understand why Verizon does have any decent Smartphones/Pda. Look at Cingular and they have a ton. I want a decent phone so I can use the internet when on the road. I have tried the Treo's and all they do is lock up. The Motorola Q's I have read they suck since they have problems and in order to real us the phone you have to buy an extended battery whic is large. The Lg6700 is Huge and so is the I1730. I like the Q size but don't want the problems.

Also why is Verizon's plans for Data so expensive?
Sprints is like $15.00 a month that is a good deal.

Why doesn't Verizon offer it as an add on for like the cost of VCast when you have a plan already.

I am on the Share plan at 69.99 so it is crazy to add $49.99 to that plan to g...

all of your rants have already been mentioned a thousand times...yeah, the data rates suck at VZN we all know it..

And there are several new PDA offerings that should be out by the end of the second quarter

HTC Libra
HTC TyTn
Blackberry Cyclone
Possibly a new treo??? (this is just a guess)

the smartphone market doesnt move as fast as regular cell phones due...just be patient and take what you get.

Thanks for the info and yes I know some of this stuff was maybe old rants but if Verizon see us rant all the time maybe something might get done.

If you were to choose a smart/Pda phone what would you choose?
Thanks again 🙂

depends on your needs...if you really need email, then I would go blackberry for sure. They are extremely stable and can really help you out when you need quick access to your email.

If you are more concerned with your schedule and synching with outlook, then I might take a close look at the 700w (becareful, its buggy) or maybe the XV-6700

Thanks I like the schedule stuff and the internet the most since I buy and sell Sports collectibles. I want to access the internet were ever I am at without the laptop draging around.
Thanks for the info I have heard the treo's are buggy that is what I don't want to deal with.
Thanks again

I agree. Go with the 6700. I'm going to be getting one soon (I'm not one of those people on here that only buys a phone the instant it comes out). In my opinion, the ulimate PDA for Verizon right now, even though it is not the most expensive.

I was deciding between the Q and the 6700. but the q just went to $80 if you sign up for the data package. so i got that and the canceled the Data Package the day i got the phone. 😈 So far no problems with any thing not even Battery life and i use the phone alot. I will probably add data soon, I just have to convince my self that it is worth 44.99 a month for the Internet on my phone.

You have to keep the package on for at least 3 months to get the discount. $50 will be charged back to your bill.

Verizon could care less about customer complaints on a non-Verizon site. Ranting here is simply a waste of space, time and humanity.

Reps can't do anything about phone offerings, and anyone who tells you that they are an "insider" is either lying and/or only 15 years old.

Soooo.... either jump ship (that does get Verizon's attention) or wait for the new offerings. Those are your only options.

I agree; because except for the Xv6700, the current selection really is crap.

I recently upgraded to the 700WX and have not encountered many problems. Granted I do not have tons of apps loaded and such, but for what I wanted and needed, it certainly fits the bill.

By the way you asked the question, I would guess you don't need a "smart" phone...

I was being a smart A$$ just like some other people were with there replies to my post. I didn't ask for smart remarks I was looking for input. TO call someone Dumb for no reason is rude and uncalled for. Don't reply keep your remarks ro yourself. 😲

the reason why it takes verizon so much longer to release phones than other carriers is because verizon tests their phones anywhere from 6-24 months longer than any other competitor.

700wx is out, most bugs are fixed.
in the second to third quarter the xv6800 should be out.
and the i760 will be out this year.

and the reason for them being much more expensive than sprint, is for the availability accross the country, and the speed. what good would your $15 data plan from sprint be if it only works half the time??

What are you talking about? Sprint's data network is the best in the whole country, CDMA or GSM. Have you looked at the coverage map? While VZW's voice coverage is a little bit more (but not much) Sprint's data network is much bigger. I get EV-DO rev A coverage everywhere I go with Sprint, and with Verizon I only get Rev 0 when I towards the city and it's spotty then.

Also, when WiMax hits, Verizon will have to do something drastic.

I can understand the jokes about Sprint outsourcing (CS sucks) and being #4, but there is no way you can argue that Sprint has a crappy data network.
