I don't doubt that there are a lot of people that will switch to get their hands on the iPhone. I'm just saying that it's not a big enough piece of the market that it will really hurt a company as big as Sprint or Verizon. I am personallly A HUGE APPLE FAN, i have an imac at home, ipod shuffle both gens, nano, and video, Plus g4 laptop and a macbook pro. The iPhone looks great but doesnt have what i need out of a phone. currently with sprint and i cant see my self leaving for a phone without EVDO, third party apps, and with a price so high, i'll stick with my BB8703e. Same thing if it came to sprint with those specs, now if it offered my live tv, evdo, third party apps, Push Email did i say EVDO

No 3rd Party Development Platform NO 3G... I am a gadget geek and i will happily stay with my VZW... I sell vzw, Cingular, and T-mobile... I Agree with both you guys, Im an APPLE person (i have the shffle, nano, video, imac, macbook pro) but without my Push email, THird party apps, EVDO i see no point in it, Love my bb 8703e, until then i see the iphone as no competition to either sprint or verizon

Are you basing this on your experiences from years ago? Cuz my service keeps getting better and better. I used to have pretty good coverage (2-3 bars at my house) until last month. Now I have full bars all the time, and I mean it. The bars don't even fluctuate like before. The only explanation I can get to this is that they converted a TDMA tower in my area to GSM (just guessing)

FCC is trying to do away with TDMA(ananlog) and trying to made this a digital USA. Cingualar has to convert their towers or lose them. Cingular's network is getting better. Recent studies have shown, by a independent company that Cingular's network doesn't hold up to their "the fewest dropped calls". Studies shows that Sprint had the fewest.

they didn't drop the ball. They made a calculated decision. Its called business. You don't pick up every single phone just cause its "cool" or "pretty"...it needs to fit your company profile and fit within the guidelines of how you are trying to grow your business and make money.

btw Verizon Passed on the iphone for a very good reasons...People that pay $50 for Internet use the phone for work...they need 3rd party software (Mileage trackers, Accounting software...etc) they are not going to pay 600 for a iphone when there treo or q will be able to take the new 4gig SD for half the price.

Personally I'd wait for it to prove itself. No real keyboard, can't change batteries, no 3rd party support for apps, no support for memory cards, EDGE only. Next Gen might be better. Or perhaps the PRADA by LG, if it ever comes to the US. Better will always be around the corner this day and age. I can wait for CDMA versions.

What are you talking about? The concept? What concept? I guess having a large internal memory is kind like a concept, but not really since you can get a 4 GB SD card for your Treo. The UI is not anything spectacular. It's like Apple OS X. It's pretty nice looking and simple, but who cares? It can't do as many things as Treos or WM PDAs can, like sync with your MS Office/Outlook data and get 3rd party apps, which are very useful. I think the iPhone is cool looking, but I'd never get it. I work for cingy and i laugh at how many people come in everyday looking for that damn phone.....more than likely there will be better phones on the market because of the big 6-month announcement apple gave to Samsung(who has the f700 in the works, touch screen user interface and a 5-megapixel camera),nokia, LG, and motorola.....Nokia i believe would be the last to act for they save all of their top end models for europe..alot of which are already 3 times the phone that the iphone will be...like the n95 for example.

iPhone being the best phone ever made, I strongly disagree. The iPhone hasn't reinvented the phone, maybe the UI. Apple's marketing=great, Apples UI=great, Apple's choice of network=poor, Apple's decision on exclusive network=very poor. This is just my 2 cents.
