Does Verizon still disable phone features?

I've heard a lot about Verizon disabling or crippling features on their phones. Are they still doing this a lot? My contract is up, so I am shopping around and wondering if I should stay with Verizon or not 😕

Yes, but they're getting better about it. The VX8600, for example, has more OBEX capabilities than the phones before it. It's still not completely unlocked though.

True; but for the most part, they still do (except for the KRZR and the Q, and I think the EnV).
