HELIO Faq's and my opinions.

OK, There is a lot of misinformation being spread in the forums by people by (as usual) not during their basic due diligence and just logging onto Helios damn web site.

In the interests of being fair and balanced, I will answer all of the questions that so far other than Eric Linn, no one has a clue as to what up. And no, I dont work for Helio, but I am a store manager for a large retail store that has a huge wireless business.

And yes, I payed my own $275 and have a HERO.

1: HELIO sucks because they use Sprint and Sprint Sucks.
Wrong. A: Sprint does not suck at all, in fact they have an excellent "network" (when did radio towers become networks?) with a larger capacity than VZW. They do not throttle their EVDO and they have a bigg...

I've been trying to research helio for several days now, but I haven't found anything that says what I need & I can understand. (I'm not very tech savy)

That was the best review I've found.

BTW, if you have any more questions, just post 'em here. Also I can answer pretty much anything pertaining to do with Sprint-Nextel and to a lesser extent Cingular. (Cingular is in a weird "phase" right now, perhaps due to the merger). I still can not get a straight answer from *anyone* when WCDMA is going live in the LA area. Its already like June.

Sounds like a fanboy to me especially with the Verizon bashing with basically lost all credibility. Probably a Helio employee. Nethertheless, it does suck that Helio uses Sprint though. I would have tried it if they used Verizon but no thanks. I need the coverage and Sprint's 1900Mhz can't penetrate through $hit.

ya hes some sort of sprint fanboy with a grudge against verizon, probably becuase they are supperior to sprint in nearly every way.

there is not one thing about sprints network that is better then verizons. their EVDO is the same speeds as Verizon's and its in less areas

more imporantly sprints voice network (they are phones afterall) is highly unimpressive and is far inferior to VZW's in every way.

My thoughts exactly. All the Verizon bashing (which, having owned phones from all major carriers, Verizon is the BEST voice network in the NATION) and the Sprint promotion I wouldn't give this guy a second thought. πŸ™„

Now everyone is flipping the script on Sprint. I have worked for all major carriers, Sprint 4 years, Verizon 1 year, Alltel 1 year and Tmobile 2 years. I do admit Verizon has a solid network and most carriers roam off of there network. There phones could be better and there data is ok. If any of you have sprint you should know that they have the most clear calls you cant compare the call clarity with any other carrier. I travel from the southwest to the east coast and have never had any problems with sprints network. Tell you the truth only them and verizon are the only 2 companys who will keep me connected. Sprint offers way more on the multimedia side than any other company there phones have always won the JD power and associates awards th...

Pretty decent review, i notice if im in an area without Sprint service, Verizon will kick in or something, but after 2 months of owning it i have only been in roaming once, never had a dropped call, and always had data service. The phones are quite amazing, every single person who has seen it/played with it loves it. A few of my friends are waiting for their contracts to expire before switching but are very much wanting to switch.

my only gripe about anything helio has sent me...is that w/ the wireless broadband and media..you tend to run the battery down fast hah..too much entertainment for a phone!

wow funny how all people who prasie something are employees or fanboys. i own a helio as well. i love it. ive had mostly all companies and they all disappoint. this company, in its birth is already surpassing phone quality and content that other companies would kill for. buy one, use one, then get back to me. if u dont like it then go back to those ridiculously expensive companies who charge u if u turn ur fone off. $20 for 300 texts on cingular? u ****ing kidding me? no way! thanks but no thanks

actually, helio is currently running off both sprint AND verizon towers, so instead of either or, u got both

I know there was talk of Helio being another MVNO of VZW, has this taken place? Helio will end up like amp'd if they don't get more customer rev. SK Telecom must be doing great, or creating a great hype. Smart.

No - it honestly sounds like this guy is a douchebag fanboy of Spring/Helio. Every carrier has ups and downs, but he beats VZW irrationally and infactually. Verizon's phones leave something to be desired for sure, but their voice network is *rock solid*. Someone who can see the pros/cons of something is someone to be trusted (especially in an internet setting). Fanboys are to be distrusted and booted πŸ™„

dude ur sucking on verizons balls and ur calling us fanboys? verizon has amazing calling service but thats it. i loved verizon but they charge too much for not enough. they need better web content that they will charge up the ass for no doubt. thats the only reason i switched. say what u want from sprint but i have yet to drop a call and i do most of them in an elevator to and from meetings. i couldnt do that on verizon ever! now that verizon will be letting helio use their service this phone will be unstoppable or at least i hope it will for the sake of my loyalty to them. but for now i will say this, all companies are good and bad,ive seen more good and less bad up to this point from helio. thats all im saying. no bashing or anything. jus...

I think its sad, that Helio don't provide a military discount for the underpaid members of the armed service. Its like you could careless of the people who protect this great nation. I was actually all hyped up about getting 1 from the commercial, until I found out you guys don’t support us in anyway.

maybe you should have joined the army instead of air force. i was saving more as an nco than i am in the civilian sector.
why should helio, or any company for that matter, be obliged to offer military discounts? did you enlist so you would get discounts or did you do it out of pride of country?
there are lots of ways companies show support without giving discounts.
and no, i'm not hating on you. i don't hate on anyone who enlisted. it's just a personal gripe in regards to people in general expecting discounts.

I know this is gonna be friggin long but Helio and Sky Dayton need a kick in their ass and they did me wrong

Really it boils down to how the employers treat their downline
I mean if it werent for them, they'd have no business

Same goes with your job and business

It's not a meat factory where if you get minced and diced and swallowed only to be replaced by new meat

As far as supervisor goes
These companies are telling what is called a mentor, who is just someone helping out with issues and not actually qualified to be a supervisor take calls

Say that their a floor supervisor and the thing is many of these people havent been on the floor for a month
They've never been in a managerial type position
They are kids that are play...

I agrre with most of what was said above and I do put the blame on ClientLogic (Sitel) not Helio. Why do you think Helio is pulling it's campaign from them?

So I signed up, everything seemed cool, but then......

*My first phone broke! It was an absolute nightmare to get a replacement. When I first called the guy on the other line told me to call device protection, which wouldn't be open till monday (it was saturday). I finally called them, and they told me the Helio rep was crazy and that it was under 30 days, so it was helios problem! Ummm didn't you post this under another forum? Don't tell people not to try Helio because of your bad experience. They have a 30 Happiness Guarantee. Anyone who is interested in taking Helio for a test drive should do so. If they don't like then they can return the phone and everything that came with it within 30 days. I have had Helio since December and I love the service. MemberCare support and Tech Support are very helpful. I haven't had to call them much. I only called when I had a question about a feature on my phone and when I had a problem with my Helio mail not downloading all of my email. The issue was resolved quickly. You are probably one of those people that F***ed your phone and called in to customer service acting like...

I currently have nextel and I might switch to Helio in the next couple of weeks. I'm paying about 70 dollars a month for my nextel and I don't even have internet or the other features that the Helio has (which is why I might switch) By the way, I don't have problems with my nextel/sprint signal so I wouldn't mind having a sprint signal (network).

any idea where to get the best deal on Helio phones? I found, what I think are pretty good deals, at http://www.freeshipping.hellohelio.net/. They seem to have descent prices and free shipping. If you have any better suggestions let me know.
