Tell me about your Helio experience

I have got to be the most indecisive person in the world. Embarassed

When I first saw the Helio Ocean, I was like wow I really want that phone. Drooling I am a little hesitant about trying out Helio because its so new. Also, I don't know anyone else that uses Helio. Rolling Eyes

A week ago I thought for sure that I was going back to Sprint. 2 weeks before that I thought I wanted TMO.
I really like the SKLX but it is so expensive and the SK still doesn't have video. Mad

I am just trying to find the best phone and service for ME. I've had people tell me not to go back to Sprint now because of all their issues. Right now Sprint seems like the best choice as far as plans(SERO) go. TMO isn't 3g yet and I don't like VZW or AT&T.

Ive got the Ocean when it first came out. I just recently had it replaced with a new one because it started to freeze up and had trouble getting online. Helio helped me, no issues at all and replaced it for free under manufacturer's warantee. My new Ocean now seems faster and better then my previous one, and I couldn't be happier.

If you really want to go to Helio, I suggest just doing it, take the plunge, you'll find out in 2 weeks if you like it or not. If you don't like it give it back, they have the 30 day happiness guarantee.

I agree.. i absolutly love my ocean with Helio... it does everything you need plus more.
Gps, Internet, and unlimited everything for $99 right now it cant be beat!

No expirience with Helio. But I just have a question- are you wanting to go Sprint for the customer service or for the network? If it's for the network, then go with Helio- they use Sprint's towers .. so yer.

I've had my Helio for over 5months now the Ocean. I know some people were having problems with their Ocean however,mine has no problems at all. And the Oceans being sold now have a firmware update so most problems have been fixed. I'm am very pleased with the service. I had Tmo and USCellular and they both had a problem working in my house. I don't live in a rural area so I don't know why they wouldn't work, however Helio works just fine with full bars!!

So I signed up, everything seemed cool, but then......

*My first phone broke! It was an absolute nightmare to get a replacement. When I first called the guy on the other line told me to call device protection, which wouldn't be open till monday (it was saturday). I finally called them, and they told me the Helio rep was crazy and that it was under 30 days, so it was helios problem! I called Helio immediately and they kept wanting to do technical support on it. But the internal screen was leaking ink! I COULDNT SEE ANYTHING! That's unfortunate. I've been with Helio since Dec 07 and I love the service. All the reps that I have talked to have been in the US. I have an Ocean and I did have to exchange for a new one because the alphanumeric pad and soft keys stopped working. I took back to where I purchased it and I got a new one with no problem. You didn't mention how your phone broke. If your internal screen was leaking ink its because you must have
dropped it.

Helio will only replace your phone under warranty IF it is DEFECTIVE! If YOU break it, then you will have to call Signal or whatever the phone ins company is...thats if you have the ins for the phone and pay the $50 deductible. If you don't have the insurance then you will just have to buy a n...

My helio experienced SUCKED!...I had sprint and switched to helio bc i wanted the ocean, so I didn't get the ocean bc they don't give you a deal on phones where I went(assholes actn like helio is the **** WHEN IT is ****!)...I had helio for 4 DAYS!...NOT EVEN A WEEK!...They have no variety of phones to choose from AND then THEY CHARGED ME FOR A WHOLE MONTH WHEN I ONLY USED FOR 4 ****IN DAYS!..AND THEY DIDN"T CHARGE ME 99, THEY CHARGED ME 140...WTF?? HOW DO YOu get the unlimited $99 and then your bill comes out to 140, ???...No i did not download anything(i get all my content for free), so where does that exxtra $40 come from?...Hell if i know, and then when you call customer service and ask them they wont tell you...what the **** kind of bul...

What??? I have had Helio since Dec 07 and I have never had any problems with them. If you only had the phone for 4 days then you would have only been charged for the time you used. I have the Ocean and I love it. The first Ocean I had the soft keys and the numeric keyboard stop working. I took it back the Helio kiosk where I purchased it from and the got a new phone with no problems. I have had the 2nd phone since Jan 7th and have had no issues. I think your story is exaggerated. You were charged a whole month because you probably kept the phone beyond the 30 days. Don't post BS. Be truthful about your experience. You can have a bad experience with any wireless carrier.
