I read one response to a post here that seemed to indicate that TracFone (incl. Net10?) GSM phones weren't compatible/interchangeable with any GSM phone or service simply by switching the SIM card, contrary to what N1 Wireless (a GSM phone, SIM card & supplier & phone unlocker) indicated. I know full-well that TracFone/Net10 has a really bad rep for customer service (experienced it myself many times) but I still have time w/ them & I want a pre-paid phone service, don't like contracts. I had a Motorola V176 & it was a pretty good, simple phone, I'd replace it with another as I already have spare batteries & chargers for it, but as I need to replace it, I thought I'd ask... & I like the possibilities of being able to switch the SIM card & also being able to use a multi-band phone outside the country.
So, any information, anyone? I don't mind paying more for a better/higher-rated phone, but as I drive a lot & tend to keep my phone in my pocket, I like the folding/clamshell designs best.
Thanks!
