Ok someone keeps calling my phone with a blocked number. Last nite i got 10 calls within a hour. I called uscc to see if they could tell me who it is but they told me that i would have to get an attorney to supeonea the records. I have a protective order against someone i just wanted to make sure it wasnt him calling me. I dont want all my phone records just the ones from last nite. I know that Cingular shows all incoming calls on there bills even if they are blocked you can still see the phone numbers. Is there any way to get this from uscc instead of getting an attorney. It would cost less to cancel my service and switch to cingular then to hire an attorney

Nope. I've tried to get my call records before and I don't believe the customer service reps even have access to see a record of all the numbers that called you.

They do its just in a different department. They won't budge unless you have a court order

Depending on the state you reside in, if these telephone calls are repeated and at late hours they may constitute telephone harassment, which in Illinois is a misdemeanor crime.

In that case you may contact your local law police department and tell them you have been receiving repeated hand-up calls with blocked information.

They should take a report. If they believe that they calls are made with the knowledge or intent to harass, (based on the frequency of the calls, the time they are made and the fact that no one answers), they can request the state's attorney's office to issue a Grand Jury Subpoena for your telephone records to the telephone provider.

Under such circumstances you would not need to hire an attorney to obtain the r...

Why would you worry about it if the number is blocked and you expect it's someone calling to harass you. Logically it is doing what you want and you can rest easy. That's like worrying if the light really goes out in the fridge when the door is closed and opening it all the time to check.

Since i went thru the hassle of getting a protective order against someone, i personally would like to know who it is to rule them out. If it is them then maybe some jail time would make them leave me alone

the best thing would be to change your number, no company is going to give you that kind of information so cancelling your service is not productive, if you have an lg 6100 you could make a voice memo of 1 second of complete silence and set that as your ringer for blocked calls that way you would never have to bother with the ringing.

the calls yes, so do ours, the numbers, no. If you mean the numbers are on cingular bills, although i doubt that, if it means that much to you that may be your only option. But i think your cell-phone carrier is the least of your worries.

Yes the numbers show up on the bills. I also have cingular for my work cell. I love uscc and you cant beat the minute plans it is just annoying that i cant figure out who's calling me. I have had my cell number forever and dont want to change it. I went thru a year of h*ll with this guy and the protective order and i am almost 100% sure it is him doing it. I think he should have to deal with the consequences. I might do what they said and just go to the police but they dont like to mess with petty things

I think it would be best to just ignore him and not let it get to you, because that would lead to more hardships, which would only help him attain what he was trying to get.

To heck with an attorney. You need to hire a hit-... A person that will take care of the problem permanently. Like my brother, Sylvester.

lol...I like the way you think. But that's most likely more expensive than the attorney.

Heres a thought...How about you just answer the call. Most likely, if it is this guy, he'll try to talk to you and then you'll know its him. Case closed.

If he hangs up on you when you answer then I guess your screwed. Oh well, deal with it.

Since you have already gone to the trouble of obtaining an Order of Protection, you would be doing yourself a disservice if you did not report this potential violation of the O. P.
to the police or State's Attorney.

For you to have obtained the O.P. you had to tell a judge, under oath, that you were in fear for your safety based upon the conduct of an individual with whom you had a domestic relation.

Orders of Protection only are effective when

1) The Protected person(s) will report violations to law enforcement

and

2) The Respondent to the O.P. believes the Protected person will report violations to the authorities and fears the consequences of a report of a violation of the O.P.

As a former assistant state's attorney I ...

Something i would suggest is see if your phone allows you to block certain numbers. If you know the numbers this person might be calling from, block those and see if you keep getting calls. I know i had a phone once that allowed me to block calls and if i entered a number, if never even rang on my phone and never went to voicemail either. For the caller it just rang and rang and rang. Not the best solution if your caller uses random numbers like payphones or something, but an option.
