Replying to: USCC Windows Phone 8 - Which Phones are Coming? by TravelnEE
Re: USCC Windows Phone 8 - Which Phones are Coming?
It is now six (6) months and counting since I first asked, which Windows Phone 8 devices are coming to US Cellular. During this time the responses were minimal, paralleling US Cellular’s formal response as well. I mention US Cellular in the same reference as a response because it was my interpretation US Cellular has, (between my first post and this post) shared in a news release they were still moving forward with the support of a Windows Phone 8 initiative.
Since this time, I’ve read news reports on the initiative to bring Apple’s iPhone and RIM’s new Blackberry to US Cellular, but nothing new about a Windows Phone 8. Imagine how frustrating this is to become aware of, and not have any other information to be shared about their status with Windows Phone 8.
With regard to the search for information, I too continue to read forums and generic post leading the readers to believe US Cellular has sold a prime market, (Chicago and St. Louis) to acquire cash, (supposedly to buy into Apple’s requirement). While at the same time promoting this initiative. Hmmm … I’ve still not become aware of a continued supported initiative to market the US Cellular Windows Phone 8, (other than a, “yes, we’ll support it”).
I don’t get it. While US Cellular comes across as jerking their loyal customer base with the silent treatment, others have not only shown support for the Windows Phone 8, but are now offering devices beyond the first release, and not just an entry level device, but a mid-to-top level smartphones.
I’m trying, … US Cellular, … to remain loyal, but the days are numbered. Even if you are going to support Windows Phone 8, the silence it very loud. This does not give me the warmth and trust I expect from my mobile carrier.
For me, I currently use, (and have been for many years) the Windows Mobile Smartphone as an integration between personal and business. I interface with multiple Exchange Solutions and the use of Office and SkyDrive. It simply makes sense to continue to use this feature rich device, but with the newer version. I have no less than 6 business professionals and others, (who too have others) awaiting for US Cellular, as I have been for the next release. As we progress with our business technology, we too expect our mobile carrier to progress with theirs. Without this, we’ll be forced to move elsewhere. With this shared, please respond to the public where you, … US Cellular stand in respect to the Microsoft Windows Phone 8.
Is US Cellular going to release a mid-to-high grade, (Nokia 928 would be nice as-well-as as a HTC 8X) Windows Phone 8 within the next 30 days? Yes or No?
An upfront Thank You for your time and reply.
