Service Issues w/ USC

by bonesaw    Sep 19, 2010, 4:19 PM

I have been with US Cellular for quite some time now. Until the price wars and all the unlimited plans from the Crickets & Boosts, US Cell has always had the best plans. I realize the phones are a step behind, but they are way better than a few years ago. One thing I never had to worry about was the service. However, it seems over the last few months the service is horrid. I power cycle, *228, battery pull, phone is in mint condition, etc etc. I realize the occassional house, basement, building or whatnot, but this is ridiculous and it's not just me. I would say since May of this year I am dropping calls and getting no service more than ever. Blackberrys seem to be the worst with this. I (and friends & family) have contacted tech support and filed "trouble tickets" but nothing has changed. Anyone know anything of this? I would hate to switch but this is really bad. I know lots of people that already have. Btw, the area is Northwest Indiana...Crown Point, Lakes of Four Seasons, Valparaiso, Merrillville, this whole area is very hit or miss, especially by any of the beaches. It never used to be SO BAD! USC plans are no longer the greatest. By the time you add your messing plans & data, etc you're paying what you would if not more for a true national carrier, the last thing I want to worry about is a brutal network. Please don't tell me big things are coming in October, because from what I have heard it's nothing to improve the network. Not trying to come off all negative, I used to love USC, but lately it's garbage.
