Where's the beef..... errr the DO??????

no DO here

I'm sorry but this will be a long rant!
For over a year and a half I have gone to this website and listened to some of you people blast us cell, and for the most part i defended them from you. However last night changed everything. In one fell swoop my manager caused me to loose what i saw in this company; and now I see that the DO that they love to throw around is nothing more than a smoke screen that they use to confuse new people into believing that us cell is out for the little guy and is interested in promoting the people that show intitive and desire to be here.
Because of one person that made it his sole responsibility to make my life a living hell, I'm not getting promoted into the position that I want. This so called "manager...

Well tell that to one of the 3 management teams that i've had to deal with over the past year and a half. All of whom we brought issues up to and all of whom told me and another coworker that we were the one's that need to get along and be better.

When I first got here I loved us cell and it sucks when you want to be involved in a company and when you find a job that you like but apparently the job doesn't like me..... therefore I fell the best option for me is to persue other options outside us cellular.

I have run into that same thing! I was told that I was not capable of leading RWC's with different personalities. Here is the problem I have...NO SUPPORT! not from my peers or my leaders to correct a problem that existed b/c of the previous leader that was in the store. Because of their inability to recognize effective leaders who really do care about the customer and the team, I decided to leave and go to a company that so far values me for my input and what I can do...not who I am friends with!

i have had my issues, as well. don't wanna go into it, but sometimes your leaders should be leaving, not you.

if you have issues with your direct leader, that's when you discuss this with their leader, and if that doesn't work, then with their leader. US Cellular is a very open company, and if you don't communicate your problems, they just fester. there are always more avenues to fix your problems rather than coming here to complain.

that is exactly what i did, i talked with my leader, her leader, and with HR. There was absolutely no support...give it another chance is the tag line at the end of each conversation I had! No support being given is frustrating to anyone, and after 6+ months of it I got tired of it and left...and now I get calls and emails from my peers letting me know they made a big mistake by not addressing the situation earlier, and that I was truly an asset to the team...which I did appreciate, but was a little too late.

The same thing has happened to me. I had problems with my store manager, I went to his boss and HR. I was told by HR that I should have went to my store manager and told him I had problems with him. Um, no, not when he was saying inappropriate things to women in the office. We all felt uncomfortable working with him, he was like Dr. Jekyall/Mr. Hyde. I went to HR for support and received NONE!! I am sooo glad that I no longer work for USCC. I feel that I wasted 2 years of my life for them, only for them to treat me and my fellow coworkers like dirt. I know of a fellow coworker that still works for the company and they were told that they were too honest of a person to work as a store manager. What does that tell you about the D.O. of t...
