Didn't notice that it wasn't on the website. I have a feeling its just because of the software issue and why its "backordered". IF it was cancelled I would have been told when I try ordering them. Plus the Strobe is a much different animal than the remix.

Only time will tell. I could call my Kyocera rep tomorrow to find out the schizz.

Hey Dead,

Sorry I have been very busy. Trying to re-model two stores and open two new locations all before Thanksgiving.

I spoke with a few people and have confirmed the information about the KX5 and the Strobe.

The KX5 is NOT being discontinued as of right now. COuld this change? Yes but, as of now the phone is still safe.

The Kyocera Strobe, FAILED testing by USC and Friendly User trials and has been sent back to Kyocera for improvments. The reason for failure was poor RF (signal) quality.

This is the type of cautious and methodical thinking that I was talking about with regards to EV-DO in our other conversation. USC is very strict when it comes to the release of a new product and that is really a benefit to the consumer...

Ignore the above (computer problem) i was wanting to know if this means that the strobe is out for good or it is just being redone to make sure it is in tip top shape when it comes out. i hope to switch back before Christmas and i am only switching if they get a good phone i like (like the Strobe) and moto sux Motorola has made some improvements and have become a lot better now. i have personally looked and played with the 323 and RAZR and they are the best Motorola's uscc has had in a while. They redid the chargers (thank god) and got rid of the 2 pronged charger. and when i have called into uscc themselves i have never had trouble (Unless i had Some One that wasn't speaking good English) and i have only gotten bad service from our mall cel...

At this point there has been no talk of fixing it and releasing it. I am sure Kyocera will do what it can to get the handset into as many people's hands as they can. Expect more news in the future.

Agreed. Kyocera doesn't "fix" phones. They redesign/rename and try again with something different. I'm glad that USCC drop kicked a kyocera. I'd rather them do that to what looks like a cool phone than them dump a crap phone on us and then ignore the fact that something is wrong with it. Case in point, Candid!! 😡 😡
