new phones
For those that work at US Cellular what new phones will be out in aug/sept? Also what is the difference between USC's razr and the Razr provided by other phone companies

The only phones I've heard of being released in Aug/Sept were the Kyocera Slider Remix and the Samsung a850. There might be more, I could be mistaken.

There are alot of Differences between the phones. The v3c has a 1.3 mp digi camera, more memory, better sound, and video The v3(gsm) has a VGA Camera No video

That is one cool thing about CDMA service. Although the phones pull more power and go through batteries like there is no tommorrow; apparantly, there is less memory/board room on GSM phones and they do less than CDMA phones of the same type. I'm just noticing a trend, not reporting any data I've collected, or anything.

I learn about the new phones about the same time the customer does. Maybe earlier if I look at phonescoop and even the phones listed as tentative for us in phonescoop aren't guarenteed to come out to the customer.

there are 7 phones on the us cellular rebate form for tentative release. everyone gets advanced warning of what phones are comming out through e-mail or testing updates

I don't get to see the rebate form. Here in the call center, I don't get advanced warning of the new phones. I MAYBE get a day or two ahead of the phone actually being released. Most of the time, I don't hear about it untill it gets released or is on phonescoop.

I guess you guys don't get the Connections. They list phones in testing every week. Including several that are either so new or so secret that PS doesn't know about them. Make friends with an agent, maybe they will send you a copy.

I am an Agent and I can tell you the way to go is to make friends with your phone manufacturer reps.

Outside of RadioShack Conventions I have never met a manufacture rep. I'm just one little agent, with one office. Nobody's reps are going to come visit me or even answer my phone calls.

I learn about new phones a good amount of time in advance, BEFORE the customer does. We usually get info packets about that, AND I read the "agent connections" newsletter.
