Wait a few weeks and the Motorola V323 will be out. If you must have it NOW, then the Moto V710.

You might consider the RAZR, too. All of the functionality of the v710 and then some.

If you don't need a camera, a good phone is the LG 4750. Its made for uscc's speedtalk service but you can get it without that feature. Uscc does not offer many choices without cameras right now that are very high quality.

They have the Kyocera Milan, Motorola V262, and the Nokia 6019i. Kyoceras are known for various issues. They are for the most part, cheap phones. The v262 has infamous speaker defects. I would think the Nokia 6019i or the LG 4750 are the best choices without a camera.

If you don't mind the camera, go with the LG 6100, Nokia 6255i, or the Motorola V710.

And don't forget too that the Razr is a dual-mode phone as well. Depending on where they live, it won't pick up an analog signal -- like the older LG6000's.

Of the choices, even though they don't want a camera, I'd say the Moto 710 or the Nokia 6255 -- for better reception the 6255 would be the best option.

I didn't say the LG6000 was a "good" or "bad" phone, I was simply pointing out that it is a dual-band phone. What I did say is that is is not a tri-band phone and won't get an analog signal.

I happen to be a huge fan of LG phones, but for people who travel or live in rural or outer-lying areas, anything that is dual-band and doesn't get an analog signal (i.e. LG6000, Kyocera Slider, Motorola Razr) just plain won't work where there isn't a digital tower close by and won't get an analog signal. In those cases, a Nokia or Motorola phone will be a good bet.

oh, i think the razr sucks, i wasnt saying you think the phone was horrible, i was just mentioning the fact that our previous digital only phone was one of our best phones.

I have had LG Phones, and finally switched to the Motorola 710 and I would never go back to an LG. They are made well, but reception wise LG's suck. I don't care if it is Digital only or not, because I have had both with LG, and neither one can pull the reception that my Motorola can.

It really tends to be a matter of opinion. I personally can't stand Moto phones so i would recommend LG 6100 or Nokia 6255i.

If you're looking for a phone without a camera, I would recommend the nokia 6019i. Simply because nokias rock. I've never had a problem with a nokia.

I am partial to my LG 6100 so I would recommend the LG 4400, because I've had friends who've used it and said it worked great.
