That is not true. It is true for longtime customers who pay their bill regularly. If you are a new customer or someone who has been suspended before they often suspend your service when your your bill is 5 days past due.

US Cellular will give you a payment extension. I think up to 3 weeks. Just call them and they will transfer you over to payments center. They then will do this. You can only do it 2 times during your contract tho.

First it's important to know that U.S. Cellular does not have a "grace period" for receiving payments so it IS possible to be suspended even the day after your bill is due, but it is unlikely. If you've had many suspensions previously, habitually pay late, or do not have an established relationship with the company you have much less "play room" than a long term customer that pays the entire amount of their bill on time every time- we play fair!
You do have the option of making payment arrangements with our financial services department if you are not able to pay on time, as the Verizon representative pointed out. Our guidelines for payment arrangements are not to exceed ...
