frustrating
As a loyal blackberry user I would like everyone that works for USCC to understand and acknowledge my frustration when it comes to new blackberry phones (and I am sure I am not alone!!!) I feel like a poor kid looking thru a toy store window watching all of the rich kids buy new toys! Why cant they get on board with ALL of the other carriers and at least get one QWERTY phone???? If you look at what Blackberry has introduced over the past months....the bold, new curve, the storm, the tour. Go on their website, bring up devices and of the 5 listed USCC carries the pearl flip, which has to be BB worst selling phone! USCC, get on board with the times and land some deals with BB!

There is a new model that has been confirmed will be launching to replace the 8830. Most likely the Tour but it may be something different. I have no further details.

USCC has the Tour in testing now and will be getting it. The bold and new curve is GSM only. And Storm is excusive to verizon only. So, what else do you want.
Pearl flip is a great phone. you can text faster with it, then you can with a qwert keyboard. I have try it and it works great.

I'm curious who geoslay is that he knows the Tour is in testing. Thanks for releasing private information and setting expectations that we may not be able to meet. We will probably get the Tour, but it's not official yet.

The point of an OPEN forum is just that. Its open for people to post their opinions and facts and in most cases around here... pure speculation and rumor.

This is very true that phones may not pass carrier testing.....at least CDMA phones. CDMA is so touchy and sensitive that a phone that works great for one carrier may not work at all for another carrier (because it's a propriety technology). Now if you were talking about GSM phones and how they are an OPEN STANDARD, then if a phone works great with one carrier, it will work just as well for all carriers since they follow an open standard and testing wouldn't be required. I can't wait until these CDMA carriers switch over to the GSM based LTE in the future, so we won't have to go through all of CDMA's testing BS.

I understand the testing and everything, but isn't it safe to say if one cdma blackberry pass uscc test, shouldn't for the most part all cdma bb phones pass unless something huge has changed between previous, models & software versions? I have no clue what is involved when testing. Just asking.
