For what you are saying you want and need - the LG Tritan, or the Samsung Delve, might be the two best phones for you. The GPS capabilities on these two phones is much better than the capabilities on any of our current smartphones; the internet is also better, with dedicated Myspace and Facebook links. I have used the BB Curve, and love that - it is USCC's best smartphone, hands down. The one downside to the Tritan or the Delve is that you can't tether it with your laptop, so there could be some give and take. In my opinion though, if you go the true smartphone route, then you should go w/the curve instead of the pearl. Hope this info helps - its just my insight into the realm of smartphones.

for the Samsung Delve. I can tell you from experience Samsung does not design a very good antenna/transceiver and their devices dont perform very well.

BlackBerry's hands down get some of the best reception compared to almost any other model of phone. Outside of RIM devices, Motorola and LG would in general be your next best choice.
