MY PERSONAL VERIZON WIRLESS VS US CELLULAR EXPERIANCE.
I just want to say that I am in no way knocking Verizon.
What Verizon is = Great Cell Phone Company.
What Verizon Isn't = A Company That Works For ME.
I have had Verizon Wireless for 26 days. And Before that I had U.S. Cellular.
In the 26 days with verizon I have noticed how they do have a signal almost anywhere.
For me, and my use, so did U.S. Cellular.
Phone selection? Amazing.
Us Cellular? Not huge, but notice its getting better.
I loved verizon, and what they do offer, and they are good for some people, but I think I am going to keep my u.s. cellular account...
I know some of you will scoff...but u.s. celular, for me, just works.
Thank you verizon!! :-)
I noticed that the 3G signal with verizon is NOT consistent. It would switch from 3g coverage to 1x coverage while sitting still. I found this very inconsistent. With Us Cellular I find that the 3g coverage is always there when in my home calling area.
I had the curve for both USCC and Verizon and the uscc curve 75% more of the time had a better coverage. (I LIVE IN CHICAGO, IL)
Customer service is amazing, everyone is so nice. When I had told them that I hated verizon and wanted to come back, they didn't charge me anything to come back, and actually gave me a 25.00 credit for something on my bill.
Call quality was top notch with us cellular. I found that w...

yeah, you know since us cellular doesnt even have 3g. believable story my friend 🤣
U.S. cellular released it's mobile broadband service at the end of October. rather than boasting how fast it is or giving it a gimmicky two letter name, we just threw it out there and said "enjoy."
i apologize on behalf of U.S. cellular for not educating WHATEVERWORKS properly so that he/she knows that our high speed data service is in fact called mobile broadband, not 3G, but it is essentially the same service.
Kudos WHATEVERWORKS, i'm happy that you decided to stick with U.S. cellular over Verizon. i'm also happy that your mobile broadband service is working properly. i hope you continue ...

you are misinformed.
btw - 3G is not a technical term. is an ambiguous, loosely defined carryover of old industry slang from the mid '90s. I should know, i designed Motorola's first prototype "3G" base station receiver in 1996. this was long before the days of 1XRTT.
also btw - back in the day we engineers in the industry also considered 1X to be "3G" as well - because it enabled new data applications not possible with IS95 (the original CDMA, or what we called 2G, or 2.5G with packet backhaul). at some point the standards for the old version of EVDO were developed and engineers started calling tha...
