I was just wondering am I able split the full retail price of a phone? (Ex: paying half up front and they put the rest of the amount on the bill?) Also, will the early termination fee, and activation fee (for the new phone) be added to the bill as well, or do i have to pay that up front too? 👀

1. Pay for the entire phone upfront
2. There is no early termination fee unless you are under a contract and you break it to leave carriers. (its billed anyways later)
3. There is no equipment changing fee at US Cellular (Activation fee's are only on a new account/line activations not adding a new phone or switching a phone to an existing line)

So just the upfront retail price for the phone!

Question? Why not pay the break fee (45-82.50) + the contract price of the phone and renew. It will be cheaper this way.

example

LG 260
89.99+82.50 172.50 - 50 gift card rebate 122.00

retail 219.999

first of all, if i understand your wuestion correctly...you can pay half in store and half on bill as long as you have been a customer with u.s. cellular for 6 months or more. thats definately not a problem.

now, the early termination of contract fee depends on how far into your contract you are. the fees are prorated, so the closer you are to the end of the contract, the less the fee will be. i think (dont quote me) if you are 22 months into a 24 month contract, the fee is around 40 dollars. we cant know for sure withou you either calling customer service or stopping into a store so we can check.

it can be added to your PREVIOUS bill. when you pay the early term fee, you are opting out of your current contract to start a new one, so the termination fee cant be applied to your new contract bill, and the term fee should be paid at the time you terminate the contract, along with whateve your current balance on the contract is. dont quote me here, but this is how i understand it. i am just a lowly service technician after all, i dont mess around with contracts too much. for more definite answers, you should give customer service a call at 1-888-944-9400 and re-ask everything you're asking here. they are very friendly and will accomodate all of your needs without having to leave home.
