Hi all,
I just want to get some insight on whether to get the new Samsung Delve or the LG Glimmer as my next phone (customer since '05), I currently have a Nokia 6265i which I love. I just want to weigh the good and bad that I've heard so far about each so that I can decide on which will be better. Here's what I'm looking at:

Samsung Delve:
+All touchscreen
+QWERTY able texting
-Low Battery Life? (Primary Concern)
-20 dollar mandatory internet (I can live w/o internet on a phone)

LG Glimmer:
+Touchscreen
-Ascending Ringer?
-No Qwerty texting
-Hard to reach buttons when slide open?

In short, for the Delve I'm worried about battery life and for the Glimmer it's the ringer and button issue.

My current Nokia has a 2mp camera...

The Delve has a web browser, thats the point of the internet why get a phone that can do all that if you aren't going to use it for the purpose it was made for. As for not reaching the keys on the LG why would you need to? That's why its a touch screen. You only need to use the power key texting and dialing are all done on the screen.

This is the same issue I have been pondering. I also have the Nokia 6265 and have been very reluctant to give it up. Both handsets are great in their own rights. I really believe I am going to purchase the Delve though it seems the more functional handset.

All your goods and bads are true. The biggest downfall of the lg 830 (glimmer) is the ascending ringtone. otherwise its a great handset, ( my brother and sister each have one) The delve is by far more functional and well worth the $20 a month extra. at least for me. I have not heard much about the battery life and that would concern me but my battery is going bad anyways and lasting a day at best.

Iguess if you like the slide form factor go with the lg otherwise I would get the del...

well, the delve also has the ascending ringtone so you can add that as a "con" to your list. i am a service technician for us cellular, so i've had a lot of hands on with both phones. here's a few things to think about while you decide which phone to get.

1. something most people dont realize is that the ascending ringtone is a newer feature for bar phones. this is a safety feature. remember that a cell phone rings out of two speakers, the main speaker and the earpiece speaker. if a call is dropped and you dont notice it, when the person calls you back and the volume is all the way up on the ringer, it can damage your eardrum. they added the ascending ringtone feature to save your ear!

2. the delve is a very active phone, so it w...
