I am a 2nd term US Cell customer at 17 months into my current contract. I was given two kyocera 1135 phones for my Sharetalk plan. Right from day one, these have not functioned very well. In the most common of areas, I receive poor reception vs. other carriers. I wanted to buy accessories for it after two months and was told it was a discontinued phone and had been so for quite a while !! So I have bared with these phones now for 17 months. Recently mine has started to function strangely. Alarms will go off but not make a sound and yes, the sound is not off.

What I am trying to get at is, I have repeatedly asked US cellular reps for two replacement phones in exchange for me renewing a new contract and they have turned me away numero...

That's why we also have a one-year warranty on equipment. Take the phone to a tech, have them look at the phone and its problem. They'll determine if they can repair it at the store or either send it to National Repair Center. Now if the problem is not covered under the warranty, there's also a reason why companies offer insurance.

Another option is to hold out until you are 80%(20 months)into your contract at which point you can renew and get new phones at that time.

How much did you pay for the phones? Were they free? If you pay nothing for them then keep in mind that is the quality of free. Pay a little more get a better quality phone that can hold up with months, and months, and months of abuse. My cell phone is the only thing I carry around with my 24/7. I don't expect it to hold up after my long day of abuse. I don't hold up after the day. Think about all the things it has gone threw in the 17 months you have had it. Add insurance, that is what it is good for. I can understand the frustration you must have though. Just know a free pair of shoes will not hold up like a $150.00 pair of shoes will. Good luck! 🙂

Not all the times "free" means that its not good quality. We are talking about electronics... the free phone can be the same brand and model made one right after the other, one may stop working a year from now and the other may last you 3 years. That's something no one can predict. The same thing with the most expensive phones you may start having problems since day one... but remember 30 days guarantee, 1 year warranty, and insurance. 🙂

if you are 17 months along, why not wait until 20 months when you can renew and can take advantage of new promo's and newer phones at good prices?? And if you had problems from "day one", then why wasn't it taken care of...17 months ago, you had 14 days after activating to return phones, and a full one year warranty from the manufacturer for defects and glitches...

USCC and its agents have some of the best customer service there is, and i am proud of i...
