New Cell Phones....
I have been a U.S. Cellular user for quite some time and is it just me or is this company the SLOWEST at receiving new cell phones? I see Verizon come out with a new phone everyday it seems like. Basically, I was wondering when U.S. Cellular will be getting new cell phones that are worth talking about.

What kind of phone do you want? The only phones that i wish we carried that verizon has are the voyager, and the smart phones. I would rather open the network to unbranded phones.
As far as phones coming out only the r610 is for sure, I have heard rumors of us getting the Pearl and also the LG Rumor, but those have not been confirmed

US Cellular doesnt have the money to spend that Verizon does either though. That actually spend their money making sure you have good service so you can actually talk on your phone (which is technically what they wre originally made for). Where i'm located at in NC US Cellular is the only company that doesn't drop calls. Sure Verizon and Cingular have sweet phones but what good is it to have the coolest phone out if you can't call out or recieve calls with it?

On a side note im so sick of the juke comercial and verizon comercials in general. I like USC's new ones i laugh a little each time i see one.

Honestly...I'd rather have a nicer looking phone than better service. I know quite a few people with Verizon and have no complaints about their service. While I do like U.S. Cellular's service more they aren't at the top of the list for new "hip" phones which is disappointing for some of us.

It depends upon where your located at also. Like i said where I'm located at in NC US Cellular is really the only cell phone service that I would trust (and no i'm not just saying that b/c i work for US Cellular now because I've sold Suncom, Cingular, Nextel, Sprint and Alltel) Verizon hasnt been in this area for very long and i've personally tried one of those to see how the service was and it was horrible HERE. I personally have the Razr 2 and love it. It's a decision that you everyone has to make like i said me personally got a phone so i can make a call with. And yes we do get complaints about not having the newest "hip" phones so customers decide to go elsewhere. Then they're the same ones b!tching because they decided to switch an...

Thats because some dumb ass at corporate made a decision to only deal with motorola for high end phones not LG. Don't ask me why but oh well.
I think the ones that come in looking for the hot phones usualy want verison's piece of junk they are selling to the kids even though it will break in a week (juke)(chocalate).....
One thing i will admit is that we need to take a hard stance in the smartphone market and bring in some of the top models in that class.

Would you buy a car from a company that never did a crash test rating, just because it looked cool? Maybe, but I guarantee it wouldn't be the majority choice.
I guess you have to put into perspective what you are really in need of. If you want a fully integrated touch screen, then yes, U.S. Cellular may lack that. But I can bet they have a phone that suits nearly every other need you can name.

Why are you complaining about the phones. if you want a chocolate get a razr2 or rokr. if you want a smartphone get the q or blackberry. i heard that the pearl is coming out sumtime in febuary. if you want a keyboard phone then wait and see if the rumor comes out. did i miss anything?

US Cellular puts its phones through rigorous testing for five months. Actual testing, not just in a test lab with the best of the best conditions (top signal, no interference, etc). Our associates use the phones, our manufacturer's use the phones, and we have teams of people making sure the quality is best all over. If a phone is 1 week from launch and has a problem, guess what...US Cellular doesn't release it on the market until it's fixed. At VerSprATTT-Mobile, phones are usually tossed out for customers to experience the problems with little to no testing on the actual network. We are getting better at releasing nice-looking and sexy phones, but we are also 1/10 the size of Verizon and AT&T. I think we are doing the best we can with...
