One More Question...

I found out I'm eligible for an upgrade in December. What I want to know is can I upgrade December 1st or will I have to wait until its been exactly one year (Dec. 23)? Thanks 😁

You would need a reason why you want to upgrade early ....If the reason is good enough they will let u do it early

Well I can upgrade now, but its $269.95 and extends my contract (which I don't want to do) and the other option is to pay $409.95 to get it an not extend. Or wait 2 months and pay $179.95 and not extend. despite how much I want it, the last option sounds good.
Although, I am on my 3rd RAZR (1 V3m, 2 V3c's) and hate it. I don't know if thats a good enough reason 😕

I am eligible for an upgrade. However, theres a big discount after 18 months and I don't have to extend my contract. I want to get a RAZR2 or ROKR but not have to pay full price like I would have to now in order to not extend.

Sorry for leaving this out 🤭

Well let me explain how all of this works.

I don't know who you talked to but here is how we at US Cellular handle prices of phones and I will use the razr2 as the example.

You sign a 2 or 1 year contract (like you already did)

You have elgibility for a new phone 18 months (2 year) and 10 months (one year) and this is what it gets you.

A new phone at the same discount as a new customer (based on your price plan)

You will NOT get a better discount if you wait for the full term of the contract ( ie 2 or 1 year) You can just wait till you need it any time after the eligibility date nd renew then and get the deal.

Second if you wait till after the contract you WILL SIGN A NEW CONTRACT (this is what was worng from ur earli...

Huh 😕
So you're saying that there is no way for me to get a new phone at a discount without extending? You're the first to say that. Everyone on here and at the store by me (btw, they're not new employees) said that after 18 months theres a discount. What I was told was its $179.95 after the 18 month mark.
This sucks because I want to get a new phone, and theres no way in hell I'm paying $400 for a RAZR, and I'm not extending.

Any other USCC employees care to comment...

well there might be a variation in regional specials but yes there is no way to get that discout without a new contract. If they have a refurbished phone they might sell it to you for a cheeper price but that would be it. Where do you live and is the stroe by you a corporate or agent location?

The only way to get the discounted equipment price is to extend the contract 🙂

yeah it does but what do you expect a BUSINESS to do not be a BUSINESS they cant sell you a 400 phone at a LOSS unless the can make SURE you will stay a customer (ie contract) but the eairlier post is corrrect just renew get it for 199.99 after rebate and then if you need to at some point cancel the contract you can for 150 then giving you two smaller payments and still 59 cheeper. I guess its the price you pay to go with the best newest phones. Also US Cellular is the cheapest for the Razr2 right now.

Amen!

Leder, honey, you can't extend the contract anyway, your parents would have to. So you may be stuck with buying it full price.

This is getting worse and worse. Theres no way I'm dropping $400 on a RAZR, thats as much as an iPhone! I guess I'm stuck with my crappy V3m... đŸ˜ĸ

I went back to US Cellular today and asked about the December thing. Once again I got conflicting info. ☚ī¸
One rep tolf me I have to extend no matter what opint in the contact I'm in. The other rep (they were there at the same time) said I would pay the discounted price (w/e it will be in December for new customers) and not extend.
Now, that second rep went into my contract info and determined I wouldn't extend. Is this possible?

😕 Sorry for all the questions and confusions. 🤭

No your store employees are not smart. WE all here online are Informative Sources of the Real US Cellular prices... you can call customer service (611 from phone or 18889449400) and they will agree.

Now if the idiot rep will give it to you for the December Price (by the way they are right the price we have been telling u at 199 is only good till nov 15th) then do it if he does not make you sign any new contracts or "service agreements" or gives you any lines like "rolling your plan over" ect.....

Just to let you know he prob will realize halfway through the process and won't do it because of the loss he could see. I would lose 230.00 myself on my paycheck if i did it for you so that gives you an idea.

Dec 1st vs 23rd - we can...

*sigh*
This means until I switch carriers, I have to pay full price for a phone? Or is there a discount after 2 years?
I want this phone so badly, but theres no way I'm paying $400. đŸ˜ŗ

Two more questions:
is there an option to extend for only a year?
And would it extend from the day I bought it, or from the day I originally got USCC (June 23)?
...
knoxvegas75

Sep 27, 2007, 9:56 PM
Yep without contract its full price.
No discount without renewal

yes option to renew for one year is 70.00 more and would start from the day u get the new phone and go for 12 mo and a 10 mo eligibility so 12/23/08 or 12 months, We are a company who values customers and dont tack on year after year to the end of the contract.

Well I'll pitch the idea to the parents. I'm sure they wouldn't mind adding on 4 more months with USCC.

Thanks! 😁
