FOREVER

Cell23

Jul 23, 2007, 8:34 AM
Seriously - Why does US Cellular take forever to release the new phones. The Moto Q has been out for MONTHS now and it's still not out yet with USCC. The Razr2 will be coming out soon and USCC probably won't get until 2008.
I've been with USCC for about 5 years now and I'm thinking about switching to Cingular/At&t. They have a way better phone selection and I hear the service is better also.
USCC really needs to step it up.

Idk
I want the ROKR really bad, but I'm not getting it until next year so I don't extend and pay less $ for it...

So it doesn't really affect me, but your right anyway.

The good thing about them is the free incoming calls, text, and pics. and i get great service where I am.

I totally agree with the great features as far as: free incoming calls, texts, pics, etc... And I get good service with them to for the most part. But they are really slow on the new products. It takes USCC twice as long to get the new phones. I am able to extend my contract now and get a new phone, but there aren't ANY new phones they have to do that.

I understand the frustration, but, and I know I am stating obvious, why would you leave to get poorer reception just because of the phone. It reminds me of the Verizon commercial with the guy with the coolest phone who picked up the serial killer and he couldn't hear his wife warning him about the killer.

U.S. Cellular is Cdma and all of the "hot" new phones come out on GSM networks (ATT, etc.) first. It's not our fault that it takes forever for the cell phone makers to pump out CDMA models. And on top of that we strive to have the best phones ( 👿 Samsung a645 👿 ) and want to test the snot outta our phones before the come out on the market so that we minimize the negative customer reactions. And unfortunatly alot of it also has to do with the fact that we are not as big as ATT and Verizon so we kinda get the leftovers.

That all being said, your preaching to the choir buddy! Everyone from the sales rep to the DOS's complain that we don't get the new cool phones.

so they are slower in getting the 'cool' products. 🙄 At least we have good customer service and GREAT regional coverage. We barely have competition in this market.

Agreed, things could come out a lot sooner. But FYI, USCC has a much harder and more rigorous testing process then other companies when it coems to phones.

SO be happy that when the phones come out they are up to par AND you can use them with GREAT service.

Yes, I have been in both retail and agent channels for USCC and it's the best service around here.

So what if you decide to change carriers. If you think you're gonna get good service w/ cingular or at&t, good luck. See you back soon.
