New Phone After 30 Day Guarantee

I re-signed my new contract and purchased a new KRZR as soon as it was available on USCC. I love Motorola and I love the phone, however I was tempted to go in and see what my options are for switching to the RAZR V3m. I know that I may switch phones only once, and will pay full retail price after the 30 day guarantee. So I stopped in to see about my options and the woman was so nice and helpful. She told me I could purchase a used Product(RED) Razr (the one I want!) for around $200 dollars after taxes and fees. But my question is this: If I can find a used Razr through ebay etc, compatible with USCC, with a clean serial number.. Would I be able to take that phone into the USCC store and have them activate it as my current phone? Obviously, t...

The only problems are- 1- the side buttons are large and can easily be pressed accidentally. 2- the phone is not extremely durable, if that is important to you.

not extremely durable is a euphemism for "it breaks a lot" Well, more like it can break easier than almost any other phone on the planet!

I've had people break it by putting it in their pocket with loose change or keys. I've never had another phone break under those conditions. It's easier to break screens than any other phone we have ever carried or currently carry.

You don't live/work in a rural/farming/ranching community, apparantly. We won't sell one of those phones without insurance. Plus, teenagers (the people whining most to get this phone) break them almost daily around here.

USCC, like other companies, have stupid rules about "branding" meaning they want us cellulars logo on their phones. The funny thing is that our razrs dont have logos like sprints do. You will have no problem if the razr you buy is a us cellular razr, and you shouldn't if its not a us cellular cdma razr. Although I can imagine someone giving you a hard time.

If you plan to get a razr to replace the krazr i would not recommend it, as others have said it is not durable and, there are other problems such as the side buttons are way to easily activated. This is why i am looking at taking my razr back, however i am still in the 30 day trial period and i am looking at other options.

If you do purchase a phone from EBAY, just make sure it IS USCC and CDMA technology, as we cannot activate another company's product, they are locked.

The side buttons are not problematic if you put on a plastic snap-on faceplate. You can get these in colors and designs, or in clear to show your new phone.

I have the RAZR, and I really like it. I'm a clutz and drop my phone on an hourly basis, and haven't broken it yet. The RAZR is just a phone, it can be broken, the same as other models.

But my question...if you have the KRZR, why would you swap to the RAZR?

In response to your question Kreeves, I thought heavily about which of the two to get back when I re-signed my contract. Ultimately, I went with the KRZR because it is just a really, really nice looking phone with a lot of great features. But I play a lot of games on the KRZR, I like to read news from my phone, I like to do all sorts of multimedia things, and the KRZR's screen is not small by any means, just not as large as the RAZR's. Also, I text a lot, and a wider keypad would be nice too.

That's suprising that people would say that, I don't really like motorola in general but i have a razr and most of those buttons don't do anything, you have to hold the volume button for a couple seconds and then hit the speaker button while its still open to change the volume, that's all it does. i have only had one person who didnt understand how that happened and i had to play with the buttons to figure out what did it, the other side button doesnt activate anything while its closed...

Now if your talking about while it's open there is something wrong with holding onto your phone with the top, no wonder the same people say it breaks easily.

Whenever someone tells me that people say razrs break easily i correct them and say "Razrs do...

I had a v3c razr and then went to a krzr. Bad mistake! I have recently switched to a v3m. By the way the price you were quoted on the red razr was a good deal. As for the whole ebay thing. I have tried that little thing 2 and trust me they are refurbished phones(even though they say new!). I think you would be very pleased with a v3m.

If you are supposed to be paying full retail and you only have to pay $200 after the 30 period that is a great deal. I went to uscc.com and suggested retail was about $350 so you save $150. Also in store price with out rebate is $130 so your only paying an extra $70 vs an extra $220, seeing as how you know this would be new and have a warranty and with ebay you never know, one person said they were refreb models even if they said they were new. The deal you got (only paying $200) is very good, as long as you know this is what you want.

as a former USCC associate, you should know that the $200 quoted to you is for a phone that was turned during the first 30 days another customer had it...which means its used. You have no idea what they might or might not have done to it, and the last time I checked, the Motorola 1 year warranty only covered the original purchaser, and would not transfer to you. If you are at a location that has in an-store technician, you might want them to take a really close look at it to ensure there is no moisture damager that was caused to it in other places besides the areas where the litmus dots are. If they are white it is ok, but if the dots are red, the phone has been exposed to liquid/moisture. Even in a store you need to be careful. Hope th...
