WiFi in USCC's future????
Can someone explain the advantages of WiFi compared to cell/sat networks?
...
WiFi has nothing to do with cell/sat networks. WiFi is a system that allows your laptop (with appropriate accessories) to connect to the internet, either for free (like at mcdonalds or subway around here) or for a fee that is established by whoever is offering the wifi. There are some phones (like the Q, treo, apache, some blackberrys) that can go wifi as well as some palm or handheld computer systems.
...
The "Q" does not offer WiFi, nor do BlackBerrys.

I thought the new one did. Maybe I was mistaken. Then strike that.

Cool, I thought it had something to do with hot spots and net connections. I have a Centrino, but no hot spots where we live. We will when we move though.

WiFi is a feature on the phone, like a speaker. The Q is supposed to support WiFi, but I don't know if our version will have it. There aren't many phones (outside of smart phones) that do wifi. I've mentioned the brands, and only the Q has been mentioned in conjunction with USCC.
