malejko, i am no longer a scientist,

but i don't believe that i corrupted the design of this experiment by explaining t9 to tim. i also explained things like how punctuation work on fastap. additionally i gave time practice time with each method and allowed him about twice as much practice time with fastap than with t9 because of the new letter layout.

if you were *really* worried about my expiremental design, then i would admit that it is invalid because their is only 1 subject in each group. that is not valid statistically, but it is still better than just the opinion of 1 guy who uses t9 every day.

i would agree there are people who will find learning fastap easy. learning how to use the fastap keyboard is (other than punctuation and the space key) self explanatory. (yes, i had to explain the space key symbol to tim, my control subject.) one key = one letter. however i would argue that with a name like "FASTap," that the makers are implying this is a faster text entry method, which is what i wanted to check.

i hope that a GSM fastap phone is produced and sold in north america so that you can get one. there is no reason to deny you a phone you're looking forward to whether we found it faster or not.
