FasTap Video Diary

I am in Canada, and have several friends with LG 6190's - they are on the Telus network and they absolutely LOVE their phones. I don't understand why the dork in this video couldn't figure it out, but then again, I've always hated T9 - so there's my bias. I've gotten fast enough on my Nokia 3120 using the non-T9 input method that re-learning T9 hasn't worked on several occasions.

Anyway, I've tried the LG 6190 several times and it's easy. Not quite as intuitive as a qwerty layout that's been ingrained in my head for over 20 years, but these guys are seriously giving FasTap a bum review. Their experiments are far from scientific, and overall this review just annoyed me to no end.

My girlfriend who has had her 6190 for a year and a half can txt on it almost as fast as she types now, which is kind of scary.

Regardless - I'm still waiting for Rogers to carry a FasTap phone in Canada. Either that or I'll have to wait for a good GSM / EDGE FasTap phone and import it or something.
