Since when does a company own the linux kernal. Wasn't that developed and owned by Linus?

To my understanding it isn't "the" Linux kernal but rather "a" linux kernal, which sounds to be the exact one that Google chose to use. This may have some effect on Android's future, but I don't think it will be anything major, or even something that the users will notice. Based on the knowledge I have gained through rooting my phone, I believe there are many Linux kernals available (I believe this because there are many kernals that you can flash to your phone, although I don't know if that is unique to Android or if it is the same for Linux OS's for computer platforms.) I am sure that there are some Linux users around here that know a lot more about this than I do, I just wanted to share what light I have on this subject in the meantime un...

Lol. Yes and same with regular corn (the type you don't pop) Linux is powered by popcorn didn't you know that Jay?
On a serious note, the kernal is basically what shows the processor how to use the OS/hardware if you weren't just making a funny comment.
