Review: HTC EVO Shift 4G

The Cliq 2 keyboard, for example, may look funny and feel kinda cheap, but the keys are a much, much better shape that makes them easier to feel and press.
The difference is whether you can learn the layout and type by feel alone; without looking. On a good thumb keyboard, you can. I don't think you can on the EVO Shift. You always have to stare at it while typing because it's so flat.
When that's the case, the whole advantage of a physical keyboard is gone; you might as well be using an on-screen keyboard, which would make the phone thinner and lighter. Why have that size & weight trade-off for a keyboard no better than a virtual one?
