Replying to: equipment costs will rise . . . all over by pat3prop Jan 12, 2011, 6:02 PM
i completely agree on your statement. the carriers really screwed themselves when they started offering cheap phones or free phones. if they never did this, i believe we would be 10x more advanced in cell phone technology and coverage than where we are right now. with everything being unlimited. all of the money they spent "buying" phones for customers so they can grab a free and stay for two years was money they could of invested in better towers, faster communication ect ect ect.....look at metropcs. they call it a a low end cell phone company but instead are very smart. why pay for a phone? let the customers pay for it. why have contracts? you want our service you will pay, if you dont we will shut you down until you want to pay again. no love loss for the company. did you see what happen to their phones? they started dropping prices because the manufactures started competing. phones are expensive but not that expensive. yeah i know my EVO should of cost me $500 instead of $199 and i would of spent $500 on it because we would of been on 7g (just throwing out numbers i know that doesnt even exist in the minds of the madmen in the blue room). more and more we are going ot go in the same route sprint is going where its unlimited for service. its not that its going to cost them money to have people on their system, they just wont be paying for phones like they used to. i say in 10 years we wont have just american coverage but world coverage where you can make a call to Singapore and its part of your coverage plan. we cant stay isolated by countries much longer. the internet is proving that we can communicate to other countries without the cost of connection.....theres my 2 cents of the day...enjoy!
