Best Buy Offers Buyer's Remorse Protection with 'Buy Back'
This is Awesome!!
Sprint Customer:
So as a Sprint Premier customer you can upgrade once a year. You go to Best Buy and get your new HTC EVO on contract for 199.99. Add 59.99 for buy back, but since I want my device protected I than get Buy Back for 29.99. A year passes ans there is a new EVO that retails for 199.99. I give Best Buy my old EVO and they give me 325 dollars. Now I have a new EVO and 125 extra in my pocket to buy accessories.
Verizon Customer:
My phone just went out and I need a new phone now, I am hearing rumors there is an iPhone 4 coming out on Verizon but there is no confirmation and I need a phone today. I upgrade to the HTC Incredible since Best Buy is selling the device for free. I pay 59.9...

Also, your numbers are incorrect. It's $59.99 to enroll with a smartphone and you get a 50% discount if you bundle it with Geek Squad Black Tie Protection. Meaning the plan is 30 and you have it covered under a plan that is very competitive with carrier insurance, and in some regards, better.
Just please, before you attack people and call them "stupid" get your OWN FACTS RIGHT.
It's a horrible deal.
Seriously, re-read the story, they say of the purchase price.
The buy back is off the full retail value. So you pay 199 for the evo the percentage of buy back comes off the 599 retail price.
Huge benifit if your a sprint premeire customer because you upgrade every year. 40% of 599 pays off a new phone easily.
its 60 dollars for any phone retailing 349.99 or higher (half off when you get black tie)
and 30 dollars for any phone retailing 349.99 or lower.(half off when you get black tie)
I highly doubt they give you a % of the full retail price when you return the phone. I will confirm the program for myself.
Is Dave Sprosty still one of the head buyers at Best Buy? The crook.
You get a percentage back of the retail price depending on how long you've owned it and what condition its in.
The perfect thing about this is, if you bundle it with black tie protection and you break your phone you can send it off for repair and as soon as it comes back it will be in good enough condition to get the full money back that you deserve.
