3GS, 32GB, I think that this will be my first and last Iphone.... this update still didnt provide some very basic things, i.e. adjust vibrate length, more flexibility in customizing, etc. I have figured out that the Iphone by itself is not a great phone; it's the apps that make it a decent phone due to all the developers efforts.... not Apple's.... Apple just seems to get in the way. I think I will be severing the contract with at&t and heading to vzw and droid. Sorry Apple.... for me the hype doesn't measure up anymore.....

Ummmmm NO. If a high dollar amount is spent and that puts a piece of equipment in line with BB, Droid, Samsung and others that offer more features and customization for the same or less money...... Then HELL NO I'm not picky.

😳

I'm assuming you aren't seriously considering a Blackberry, and man, you have to get the word "droid" out of your vocabulary. It's "Android" and the Samsung your most likely talking about is one of them.

Alright forgive me but it seems apple cheerleaders are gathering. I am an engineer, I have used BB's for years and probably wouldn't go back to them for political reasons (giving in on security issues to countries in the middle east and the EU) but droid is looking very good. I am tired ofthe "walled garden" of apple and I forsee much better developer growth in a "free" marketplace. I will not accept this and therefore will be moving on.

😲
First off, I am not an "apple cheerleader". In fact if you look back to my first response, I never did for a moment say anything to show preference to a single platform. Sorry for calling you picky, you are obviously an idiot. Your the kind of customer that thinks they know this and that, buys an android or blackberry device and comes back to the store an hour later because you did a full security sweep of the phone, crying you want your money back.Thats right I said it, it had to be said....

Hmmm, not so good at accepting the "cheerleader" comment when in fact you.... did begin the polite... bash of my first comment. Yet oh so quickly did you refer to me as an "idiot". I think one should not make the comparisons of a spoiled soul as you so implied regarding my purchases when you in fact lack the insight and ability to pass good judgement based purely on fact. And good sir.... The fact is I probably hold a patent to something that you currently have on your person so please don't question my purchasing choice or ability.... I am quite sure my understanding is a bit deeper than yours. Good day sir.

ROFL!!!!

Go ahead and point out where I said "keep your iPhone" or even implied that Apple was better than Android!

I love how guys like you come on here for the sole purpose of picking fights, and from all appearances, you actually opened up this account for the purpose of picking a fight.

Good luck with your new "Droid" on VZW!

My guess is that you don't own an iPhone at all.

If you don't like the iPhone, thats fine.

But you don't have to cancel your contract to get a "droid". Save yourself the $200.00 cancellation fee, and the cost of an Android device on VZW, AND the cost of an activation fee (totaling about 435.00 on average for all of that) and purchase an Android device for AT&T online or outright. There are a bunch of choices for AT&T now, a lot of people are going for the Galaxy S series right now.

Chances are though, I mean, based on what you wrote above, you aren't going to be satisfied with an Android either.

Actually, if you reread his posts, he understands fully what he is getting into with an Android device. He's clearly stated that the grass on the other side is only a few shades greener. But, even with the slight advantages, he rather takes his chances with the Open Source OS that Android offers as opposed to the conformity and cookie-cutter iPhone and it's lack of customization. Also, as you can tell he isn't too fond on the network either. Which isn't too much of a surprise, AT&T is dead last when it comes to their customer service and support.

So no, your assumption is wrong about the OP and based on his posts, he'll be happier when he does jump ships.

This is what I responded to:

Where did he say he didn't like AT&T's coverage? Where does he emphasize the grass is only a "few shades greener" and where does he mention anything about goin...

While you are correct that I did not flatly state that I was un-happy with AT&T, I did intend to imply that thought by my statement of "heading to VZW and droid.". I have not been very pleased in the differences of data throughput even in areas of "3G" coverage. The only consistency in at&t's data is the inconsistency of speeds and to make things worse I have to travel into other "native" at&t markets that are still Edge only.... quite painful sometimes. As they say though, "live and Learn".
