Will we get it faster if we do the manual update through the settings?
And has anyone received the update yet?

You can do a manual update check and possibly get it, but you're only allowed to do it once every 24 hours. I did see that someone over at HowardForums got their update that way. I tried last night but didn't get anything.

And apparently the Phonescoop blurb is wrong about this update containing a GPS fix. However, be warned that, if you use the Captivate's built-in USB tethering capability, this update removes that feature.

If you get the update and are registered over at HoFo, there's a thread under the AT&T Android subforum about the update, so please post your thoughts there.

I don't think so. I believe there was a hidden, built-in tethering feature. Still, you might want to check the HoFo thread I mentioned before doing the update. Also, Android Central has a thread about the update in their Captivate forum, but I haven't had time to watch it today.
