Samsung Offering Software Fix for AT&T Captivate

Samsung today said that it is pushing out an over-the-air update to the Galaxy S Captivate, which runs on AT&T's network. According to Samsung, the update improves the Captivate's GPS performance. The update also speeds media scanning time, adds the full version of Quickoffice and addresses Microsoft Exchange 2003 policy support. The update will be pushed to Captivate users over the course of the next few weeks. Samsung and AT&T are not providing the Android 2.2 Froyo update at this time, and have not announced any details regarding when that will be.

Manual Update?

Will we get it faster if we do the manual update through the settings?
And has anyone received the update yet?
You can do a manual update check and possibly get it, but you're only allowed to do it once every 24 hours. I did see that someone over at HowardForums got their update that way. I tried last night but didn't get anything.

And apparently the Phon...
